The Seasonal Reading Challenge discussion

I know that pre-reading is allowed for big books, but does all the pre-reading need to be done in the last quarter?

For instance, I started reading Infinite Jest back in June... it just hasn't grabbed me but I really do want to finish it. I'm just under 50% done now. If I make a big push to finish this chunkster by the end of February, is that ok to count? Or would I have needed to have started it during the last challenge (ie, after september 1).

There aren't any rules about this. If the book is over 500 pages and you've read less than half, you can use it.
