Molly Whoa (whoamolly) | 2 comments I would have read a bunch of Aussie lady-type authors anyway, but this makes it more official. I’m going to seek out as many speculative and sci-fi chicky authors as possible, but maybe I’ll step out of my comfort zone too, and dip into some (shock) other kinds of fiction! Stranger things have happened, I assure you.

So, I’m thinking some old favourites: Playing Beatie Bow by Ruth Park, something by Isobelle Carmody (maybe a re-read of the Darkfall series?), plus I’ll be on the hunt for new, awesome Sci-Fi and Speculative fiction from the awesome ladies of my fair shores. A few folk have recommended The Infernal by Kim Wilkins (a nice horror fantasy novel from a Brisbane lass) so that is definitely going on the list.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely have to check it out!

Mark Webb (markwebb) | 80 comments Welcome to the challenge Molly. There is a speculative fiction thread here where a few of us discuss the spec fiction books we're reading and post links to reviews etc. You might get some ideas for future reading!

Look forward to reading your reviews.

Mark

Sue (susieq777) Awww, Playing Beattie Bow. I still remember reading that in Year 8 with Miss Bullock as my English teacher. I look forward to your review :)
