Did Dumbledore intentionally set Snape up to be killed by Voldemort? Dumbledore seemed to have a great deal of insight about Voldemort's possible actions. Do you think Dumbledore foresaw Snape's death? Do you think Snape foresaw it himself?

Charleen | 57 comments No, I think Dumbledore would never do something like that-he learned his lesson from his past already. I think maybe he did foresee Snape's death, though, just because Dumbledore has a knack for foreseeing things. I also think Snape may have foresaw it, but I'm not too sure, as Snape doesn't tend to show his feelings too much.

yah um hi im shimmi soo (bethanybooks) | 30 comments I think part of Dumbledore knew that Voldemort would do anything for that wand, no matter how loyal they made Voldy think Snape was. I don't think Snape knew, but after Lily..I think part of him wanted to die anyway, when you think about it, there wasn't much left for poor Snape in the end.

Mpiggy Dumbledore probably foresaw it, but I think Snape, when taking on the task of killing Dumbledore, knew he would die anyway. If not by Voldemort, then in the war or something.

S Jakes | 281 comments I think they both knew Snape would die. I mean, he's a spy for the Order. Even if they didn't suspect he would die after being found out, the likelihood of him dying in battle is still high- higher than most considering he would not be aiming to kill but his opponant would be. I think Snape was resigned to his fate from the moment he asked Dumbledore if he could spy for him and they both knew it.
