What did you think?

Alyssa | 184 comments I use to fangirl over it. I remember reading all 3 books like 2 months before the movie came out and was like this is going to be huge people, you all are going to love it and I was right. I was nice discussing it with other people. But now everywhere I go I see Huger Games. I'm going to Barnes & Noble trying to search for a book. (because I like the satisfaction of finding the book myself instead of buying it on the internet) and all I see is Hunger Games books, boxsets, games, posters, movie guides ect. It just annoys me now. I remember loving it a lot don't get me wrong but now... I just don't. I think it's the publicity is overflowing too much.

As for the actual book. It's brilliant! It's so different and started all these other dystopian books not none are nearly as good as this. The districts, games and the character were just so WOW! I clearly remember being Team Gale while reading this book though. I believe it was because for once I wanted to root for the underdog.

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) I'm hooked with this trilogy. I watched the movie first though and there are slight differences in the book. But I don't care, it's still as good as the movie. :D

Gabriella (gmargarita) I enjoyed the Hunger Games, but it is what I like to call a "blockbuster thriller" in the world of books. Exciting and explosively popular, but something that will fade. It's not very memorable in the long run (long run being over many, many years). In my opinion there's a definite distinction between a good story and good literature, and Hunger Games doesn't quite stretch to that second category.

A H I loved this trilogy. Very exciting, fast-paced with the right amounts of everything. There was nothing.....wrong in the book, everything was just perfect, what it should be....fell in love with the main characters - Katniss, Peeta and Gale.

Katniss was excellent! - Brave, courageous, intense, determined. Peeta was soft, kind, gentle but brave all the same. Preferred Peeta over Gale though I liked gale too.

How could you prefer Peeta over Gale?!? Nah, I'm just kidding. Are you excited for the Catching Fire movie to come out?

yah um hi im shimmi soo (bethanybooks) | 30 comments I think the Hunger Games was good! Really good! I enjoyed this series alot. I especially like how Suzanne chose to make the main character not a great person, if you know what I mean. People say Katniss is great, that they would love to meet Katniss, but they only say that because she is the main character. Katniss was created as a rude, violent, quiet girl who didn't know how to make friends, but was pretty and could sing, which made some guys like her (not Gale and Peeta, they liked her for her surprisingly) I know this sounds really rude, but I'm admiring, actually, because it's true and that's okay. I love how the author made the main character not the role model. Peeta is the role model here. Over all, a really good book

Yes!! I'm really excited for the movie.....especially as the first movie was really great. It wasn't better than the book but it was better that most other movie adaptations of books. And I'm SO excited to see Finnick Odair!!

Jazzy | 3 comments Yeah I was excited to see finnick odair too but he is being played by an actor who I quite old :( I don't like him! I think they should have chosen someone better and younger but I still can't wait to see catching fire it is no long now !! :)

Elle (elesabrina) Who else thought that the ending of the book was whack yo?

Olivia McCloskey (brewingupbooks) | 2470 comments Mod
I thought the ending was both happy and sad - both Peeta and Katniss made it out of the games alive, but Katniss also pushed Peeta away, rather abruptly. I know some readers, mainly diehard Peeta fans, were absolutely devestated. Being a Gale fan myself I wasn't as emotionally affected, but still found it to be a bittersweet ending.

Kaitlin I thought the ending was okay. It was definitely a cliff hanger but I don't mind that in a book :)
