Themed Book - Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore YAY sorry my favourite book! But then again don't listen to me 'cause I seriously don't want to kill Graceling with my overly enthusiastic hype.

Standalone Book - This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers I'm totally ready for the Zombie apocolypse... are you?

Series read along - City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare Book 2 of our series read along. :)

Happy Reading.

message 6: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Graceling deserves your enthusiastic hype! It's really good.

I'm excited about the Standalone Book. I think I've been wanting to read it since it came out. :)

I love the Mortal Instruments series, so I'm happy with that.

General - Eon Dragoneye Reborn (Eon, #1) by Alison Goodman I haven't read Eon (although I want to) but after reading the description, it looks like we have another great heroine.

Themed - So you guys chose the theme: Book to Movie. Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle, #1) by Christopher Paolini came out on top. Hmmm seems like we have a dragon theme going on.

Series read-along - City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare bk 3 in the Mortal Instruments series!

Happy Reading!

Trip (shardsofromance) Looking forward to Eon Dragoneye Reborn (Eon, #1) by Alison Goodman and Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle, #1) by Christopher Paolini , this should be the first month I properly participate in the BOTM'S.
Although I did read This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers by pure coincidence xD

message 11: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) I've read all three of those books. I loved all of them. I've been meaning to read Eon again. :)

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments :D

I think that from now on every 2 or 3 months the general book should be a sequel book of one of our previous BOTMs. I think that some people would like to perhaps discuss and/or read the sequel books. I know I do.

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments May BOTMs

General- Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer This is the sequel to Cinder a previous BOTM. I am very excited because I know you will all enjoy Scarlet!

Themed- The theme is Angels and the choosen book is Embrace (The Violet Eden Chapters, #1) by Jessica Shirvington . I love this book, i don't often read 'angel' books but this is really good and I love Ms. Shirvington's twist on angels.

Series Read Along- City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare bk 4 of the Mortal Instruments series.

General 2- This book will be picked by the winner of the Cover Challenge.

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments June BOTMs

There were ties for both the themed and general BOTMs for next month. So us mods made a decision to pick which ones.

General - The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin I have heard a lot of great things about TUOMD but I'm not sure if I would like it, I don't usually read these kinds of YA. Well I hope you all like it!

Themed - For June the theme is fairytale retellings! Kaitlin has picked A Curse Dark As Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce which is based on the story of Rumplestiltskin I believe.

Series Read Along - City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5) by Cassandra Clare bk 5!

General 2 is picked by JojiWoji!

Happy Reading!

message 15: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) To add to Chelsea's announcement, Jojiwoji chose Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand so we'll be reading that too.

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments July BOTM

General - We will be reading The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater ! I am so very, very excited. Personally I completely loved this amazing book. It is original and features a strong heroine!

Themed - July's theme is Deads protagonists. Lauren Oliver's Before I Fall has been choosen. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver I have only read her Delirium series but I have heard great things from Before I Fall

Challenge - Across The Universe Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis from what I have heard is really good! I really like the concept of 'travelling to another planet'.
(The real reason I haven't read it is because of the 'scandalous' cover that my mum would disapprove of! Hahahaha)

Anyways,
Happy Reading!

message 17: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) The bachelor auction winner's pick was Across the Universe.

September's Books of the Month

Only 3 books were nominated for this month, so they are what we will be reading.

Illuminating Gracie by Lisa C. Temple (Lisa is a member of this group :) )- Illuminating Gracie by Lisa C. Temple

Unwind by Neal Shusterman - Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead - Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead

Lisa Temple | 18 comments I have a question for the group members and I would really appreciate any feedback you are willing to give! When you go online to search for a book, what words do you search under? For example: would you search Young Adult series or Vampire Books or Books like Hunger Games...well, you get the idea.

I'm excited that "Illuminating Gracie," is a BOTM - I truly hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them! Thanks!

message 21: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) I don't usually use a search engine. I use the recommendations on Goodreads and I look through the "Readers Also Enjoyed" section on a book's Goodreads page. I also find new books to read from looking around on blogs and by being recommended books to read directly from other readers.

When I do search for a book through an actual search (like through Google), I use the title and/or author because I know exactly what I'm looking for.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't really search for books anymore, I just have a list here and a sort of "read these books next" list on my phone. I used to search "books if you liked The hunger games" and stuff like that, but these days my to read list is like a flood and I only add books if they catch my attention, I don't go purposely looking out for them

Thanks Athena! You and Kaitlin basically said the same thing. I guess once a reader finds Goodreads - searching for books becomes obsolete! Book marketers always emphasize picking the right key words because of searches - but, I think more and more readers are finding sites like Goodreads where they don't have to hunt for a book they like!

I don't know if you are still looking for answers, but when I'm really desperate to find books to read, I usually type "Young Adult Bestsellers" or "Popular YA books." When I want to specific on the type of books I want to read, I use Goodreads, mainly Listopia. :-)

message 26: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Temple | 18 comments Thank you Shrishti! That is actually very helpful!
