Welcome Robbie. That's cool that you were raised vegetarian.
I have noticed a lot of people ask me if I was raised vegetarian - must be a question that gets asked of veggies a lot, though I think most of them became veg sometime later than birth. :-P Hmm, I would be interested to see statistics on that.

I'm Íris, I'm 23, I'm Portuguese but I'm living in Angola, Africa.
I've been vegetarian for almost 2 years now (celebrating my 2nd on this month on the 22nd!) and I'm trying to transition to veganism slowly because in a 3rd world country that's definitely a challenge.
I like to read anything as long as it's well-written (but I usually run from Contemporary Romance, Chick-Lit, Sci-Fi and YA).
Happy New Year everyone :)

I am originally from Vienna, Austria, but have been living manly in Germany for the last 15 years.
Since 2013, my family and myself have been living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is a great place for vegans and vegetarians to live.
I mainly read Fantasy and Science Fiction, but also enjoy Thrillers now and then.

Lol, avocado makes soo many things better. I was eating a burrito today and told someone "without the guacamole I wouldn't even bother". :-P

I'm Ralph from western Virginia, near the mountains. I've been a strict vegetarian for 20+ years and am almost completely vegan as well, but will eat something with cheese occasionally when I'm out.
I became a vegetarian primarily out of concern for the environmental impacts of animal agriculture, which is responsible for 20% or more of greenhouse gas emissions, depending upon how it is measured. I'm also concerned about the ethics of raising animals for food, and of the unhealthy effects of meat.
My favorite veg foods are Middle Eastern - hummus, falafel, eggplant, dolma, etc. , and I cook with chickpeas a lot.
Looking forward to hearing more about books in this group.

I live in the country on a property where we planted many trees including fruit trees. We now have fresh fruit all year round from our own trees. I'd have to say my favourite food is any kind of fresh raw fruit. Right now its plum season here and I am eating glorious sweet huge plums by the truckload.
I love animals, especially marine animals because I used to do a lot of ocean sailing. Obviously I'm interested in reading any books about marine animals and even better if the humans in the book are vegan and don't eat the main characters. :)

Welcome Ashlee. You'll want to swing by our Cats and Dogs thread then... we'd love to see a picture of your dog. :-)

(Also, congrats on going vegan! I've been vegan for the past 20 or so years - always learning, but it's the best change I've ever made in my life, after going vegetarian, lol.)
