any recommendations for intruiging , good plot whodunit collection . either single story or short stories or anthologies ?

I'll come up with something different. I would like to check out John Harvey. Haven't read him yet but his latest book in the Washington Post seems good.

My personal favorites as far as mystery writers go are John Sandford, Craig Johnson and Margaret Maron ... all very different. I also like Thomas Perry very much but he's a bit more 'off and on' for me.
