✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Well The Vampire Hunter's Daughter (The Vampire Hunter's Daughter #1) by Jennifer Malone Wright was ok but very unsatisfying length wise.

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Finished The Case of the Flashing Fashion Queen (A Dix Dodd Mystery #1) by Norah Wilson it was quite good, definitely didn't expect the murderer!!

Gonna read Clovenhoof by Heide Goody next :)

message 104: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Finished Clovenhoof by Heide Goody , I quite liked it :) Thanks for the suggestion Joo!

Not sure which to pick next, I'll have a browse when I've finished analysing my results and see :)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments a friend of mine uses a 'to be read jar' where she puts everything she has to read into a jar and takes on at random. i suggest a more high tech version of this (or the jar if you really want - she's making one for me actually...)

message 106: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Reading Heretic (Templar Chronicles, #1) by Joseph Nassise next :)

message 107: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Heretic (Templar Chronicles, #1) by Joseph Nassise was really good, definitely recommend it, not too religious, not too silly, just a good action book.

message 108: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Elle, I love the jar idea.... maybe I could do it with the numbers rather than book names... save time and paper!!

Gonna pick the next one now but I'm not allowed to start it til I'm ready to go home tomorrow... which doesn't give me long before bed as it's 23.20 here now. Whoops!

message 109: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments My jar is actually a rather large plastic box LOL!

She made it for me with those small tags you get - probably an expensive version of it but I say work a high tech one if you can be bothered to do it.

I already have everything in a spreadsheet and would use that but some of them are in a series and it would get complicated!

I missed this, but that is a fantastic idea, would definitely help with the amount of books, and better than my 'how long I've had it, then alphabetical order'

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments I'm reading Song of the Fairy Queen by Valerie Douglas now. Loving it so far :)

message 112: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments The one problem I have with my kindle is that the books have no synopsis. I have a list of titles and I have to get on the computer whenever I want to match the title to a synopsis!!!

Because I'm incredibly lazy I just start them without knowing what they're gonna be about! ;-P

message 113: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Claire, is it just me or are you a really fast reader!?

I have that problem too so I often end up on here looking to see what they're about!

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments D.D. wrote: "Claire, is it just me or are you a really fast reader!?"

I'm quite a fast reader, I go through phases where I seem to devour books but then phases where I barely read anything.

I'm moving soon to a place where I'll have a 20 minutes commute, can't wait, more reading time on the metro :D

message 116: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments This is really annoying now, I've just added all the books to a separate shelf (something I should have done to start with!) and I have 100 books on here and only 99 on the shelf....!!

That's how I read too.

What's you biggest book binge?

Mine is 11 books in four days when I was down with the flu last year...

message 118: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments D.D. wrote: What's you biggest book binge?

I actually have no idea D.D. I don't think I've read more than one in a day and then started the next although I successfully read about 20 books over my 2 1/2 week Christmas holiday (while revising) as I was trying to reach my 100 book goal! However, the majority of them were Famous Five books as they were reasonably short and easy to read!!! :)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Did you get mental cravings for ginger beer and porridge and cream??? ;-P

message 120: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I read like that too girls, I don't touch stuff for months then I read about a book a day for a while...

Tire myself out!

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments D.D. wrote: "Did you get mental cravings for ginger beer and porridge and cream??? ;-P"

No, not a big fan of any of them, although I did get a craving to try having breakfast, lunch, tea and supper. Hasn't happened though, yet!

I remember reading them as a child and wondering how it was that these children were allowed to drink beer, didn't realise at the time that ginger beer is alcohol free!

message 122: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Just finished Song of the Fairy Queen by Valerie Douglas . Amazing, definitely a recommended book. A bit of a chunky one but well worth the time and the emotional upheaval it takes!

message 123: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Just used a random number generator. First one that wasn't either already read of halfway through a series was Snoops in the City by Darlene Gardner so that's next :)

message 124: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments I#m quite enjoying Snoops so far :)

message 125: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Snoops in the City by Darlene Gardner was really good, I definitely enjoyed it! Eternal Vows (The Ruby Ring, #1) by Chrissy Peebles is next :)

message 126: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Finished Eternal Vows (The Ruby Ring, #1) by Chrissy Peebles didn't really enjoy it, the characters were a bit pathetic and whiney for me. Now to see what's next :)

message 127: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Reached the 25 book mark as well, halfway through my original goal, 1/4 of the way through my updated goal :)

message 128: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Daughter of Time A Time Travel Romance (After Cilmeri, #0.5) by Sarah Woodbury is next, love it so far :)

message 129: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments going great :D

message 130: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Having a bit of a major reading weekend... Finished Daughter of Time A Time Travel Romance (After Cilmeri, #0.5) by Sarah Woodbury last night, was so good, The ending was good but I didn't like it, I spent half the book hoping it wouldn't end how it did! I want to read the actual series now.

Started The Time Hunters (Time Hunters, #1) by Carl Ashmore today as well, about of a quarter of the way through so far.

message 131: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Oooo I it to read too, and it will get read eventually.. Too many books!!

message 132: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Definitely recommend it :) The Time Hunters is good so far, definitely aimed more at children though.

message 133: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Wow!!! You're really doing well, Claire!!!

message 134: by ✿Claire✿ (last edited Jun 03, 2013 09:16AM) (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Thank you D.D. :)

Finished The Time Hunters (Time Hunters, #1) by Carl Ashmore Was good, especially towards the end.

Will read Dark Dates (Cassandra Bick Chronicles, #1) by Tracey Sinclair next once my Kindle's recharged! Think I wore it out with my 3 books I read this weekend lol!

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Claire wrote: "Definitely recommend it :) The Time Hunters is good so far, definitely aimed more at children though."

Ooo I was talking about Time Hunters, not the other one! Not my kind of thing :P

message 136: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I've not read time hunters yet, I really need to

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Its good stuff Jud. You do need to.

message 138: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Finished Dark Dates (Cassandra Bick Chronicles, #1) by Tracey Sinclair , didn't overly enjoy it until the last 10% or so when the action got going and things got interesting. Unfortunately, it was then over far too soon!

Not sure what's next, I've got a few non free books I want to get read over the next few days before I get back to the free ones again.

message 139: by Joo (new)

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments You have inspired me to delve deep into my free books collection. Even if it is just to test a book and stick it into the "I'm never going to read this" pile :)

message 140: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Glad to inspire you Joo :) It's quite a rewarding exercise. A book has to be really dire for me to stop reading it entirely but I have found some surprising gems hidden among my free books.

I think my Kindle will thank me as well when I remove the latest 20 or so from it(or maybe not as I just keep adding to my pile. Why on Earth did I think 'I'll never have 1500 books on here'? )

message 141: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Going to read The Books of Rachel by Joel Gross next

message 142: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments The Books of Rachel by Joel Gross was actually really good. I read it all today and enjoyed it. Having read the reviews, I was expecting it to be a lot more horrific than it actually was, not that I want to play down any of the horror the author describes.

I'm going to try and read Phantom of the Opera next so it may be a couple of days before I pick up my free kindle books again.

message 143: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Read another one which wasn't on this list but was a free download - it was terrible! Definitely not recommended! - Death By Lotto by Abigail Keam

message 144: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Murder Passes the Buck (Gertie Johnson, #1) by Deb Baker is next

message 145: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Read . Murder Passes the Buck (Gertie Johnson, #1) by Deb Baker , didn't overly enjoy it, can't explain why, it just didn't seem right. Reading Summer Secrets by Barbara Freethy now

message 146: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Cute cover for the Baker one.

message 147: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Elle wrote: "Cute cover for the Baker one."

That's part of what caught my eye. Unfortunately there was just something about the story that I didn't enjoy, I'm just not sure what it was!

message 148: by Joo (new)

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments I think I started reading it, but put it down and didn't pick it up again.

message 149: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments It wasn't bad enough for me to give up on, it was just a bit uninspiring!

message 150: by ✿Claire✿ (new)

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments I've read two more plus several other free ones (I can never remember what's on this list when I finish a book on the way to work!!)

Package Deal by Tasha Harrison was surprisingly good but I really enjoyed Summer Secrets by Barbara Freethy
