Arbiter is my first published novel, published by Vittoriosa Books on Dec. 27, 2012. The book is officially published as YA, although I didn't have YA in mind while I was writing it. The publisher contacted me on Fictionpress while I was writing the novel and asked about publishing it, at which point I took it down and started putting it through the wringer, with the help of Joanna, a really awesome person who took the time to sit down and work through the book's issues with me.
Arbiter is a lot of things--a fantasy adventure, a girl saves world story, a romance (sort of), and the start to a series, but at its core it's the story of a girl, Rae Miller, and how the chaotic events around her help her rediscover her strength.
If you like fantasy and adventure, magic, and characters that actually work through their issues, and grow and evolve as the story continues, I'd love for you to check Arbiter out. And for those of you worried about my reaction to your comments, I just want to reassure you of one thing. I will NEVER flame a negative review. I know I'm young (20 years old--AND A HALF!), and I have a lot to learn. Honestly, if I can make just one person read the book and believe in Rae, the book's done it's job. And since there's already one 5 star review on there saying mostly that, I'm already happy.
If you liked it, awesome, let people know. It'd make me happy and help me get my name out there. If you didn't like it, tell me why. It'll help me for the sequel, and will make my next novel that much better.
And to prove I'm taking your suggestions into account, I'm letting you name the series. If you've read the book all the way through, you may post your ideas for a series name on the appropriate topic on this forum, and as I'm writing Mage, the sequel, I'll take all those suggestions into account.
