Katharine I'm just a little obsessed with chivalry. I like my heroes old-fashioned, courteous and willing to defend the weak no matter what. I'd like to read more books with heroes like this and more importantly, expose my teen daughters to these kind of models of good behavior rather than some selfish sparkly vampire. Do you have a suggestion of a book -- any genre -- whose hero fits well into the definition of chivalrous? You can list it here, or on my Listopia list "Chivalrous Heroes". Thanks!

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 188 comments How old are your girls???

They could try The Sooner, which is a sci-fi with a nice hero and a good supporting cast. It's a clean read and available as an e-book and I think as a paperback too.

Also (hope you don't mind!) all of my books are clean reads, and (hopefully!!!) have chivalrous heroes. If your girls would like a free e-book copy of any of them I'd be happy to provied one through smashwords. :-D

I try to keep the chivalry in my heroes. Full of medieval knights and everything. :-) They may be a little old for 13 and 14 year olds, though. I have an inexpensive short story available if you want to sample my writing.

A Candlelight Courting: A Short Christmas Romance

Aslaug Gørbitz | 8 comments Katharine, this is one of the main reasons why I wrote my book. In order to portray a different kind of hero. I have 3 men in my book who fall into the description you gave. My book is free today, if you want to take a look at it.

Kathy * Bookworm Nation | 62 comments Marcia Lynn McClure write awesome heros and heroines. They all have high standards and are lighthearted fun.

Also, the below authors all write clean books with great heros. I'm in my thirties, but I think your girls might like them. Especially Rallison and James, they write for a YA audience.

Donna Hatch
Sarah M. Eden
Janette Rallison
Jenni James
Deborah McBride Hathaway

ML Sansom (mlsansom) | 5 comments Hi Katherine.

I'm still looking for a first review of my first published title, "The Forbidden Love of Don Ramon."

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

If you yearn for the age of chivalry, then I think this historical romance novel by Grant Sinclair will be right up your alley.

Duty, honor, and tradition combine to create a conflict of the heart for the story's chivalrous hero.

Enjoy!

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) It's classic lit rather than HF, Frances Burney's novel Camilla, written in 1798, has perhaps the ultimate chivalrous hero, Edgar Mandelbert. Warning: the book is 900 pages long.

Tamara Philip (tamara_philip) | 19 comments My hero Tom Elmswood is very sweet and chivalrous! check out my book The Trouble with Playing Cupid by Tamara Philip

Here's the blurb for The Trouble with Playing Cupid:

One New Year's Eve, shy singer, December Brown drunkenly texts her talk show host pal, Trace Randall, about her long time crush on the aloof actor, Tom Elmswood. Thinking the two celebrities would make a cute couple, he unwisely decides to play matchmaker... in front of a live studio audience.

Things start to go downhill when Tom admits he's never even heard of December before. Now what seemed like a sure fire hit quickly becomes a flop. Will these two lonely hearts ever make a love connection or has this cupid's arrow missed its mark?
