Hi! I'm J.D. Hallowell, and I write fantasy and science fiction. I've had two fantasy novels, Dragon Fate and Dragon Blade, published, with two more in the pipeline for release this year.

Hi J.D. We have the same publisher but our hats are different. Mine is a Greek fisherman's cap, not unlike a Beatles cap if you're old enough to remember such a thing.

JD, thanks for the Hat Pic of me! Now I am notorious. Or at least stereotyped?

Actually, I am a semi-retired archaeologist and that hat is one that I bought recently after my move to Los Alamos, New Mexico, the tip top nuke city! But it is similar to the Indiana Jones hat I wore on field digs for various federal agencies like Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service, Forest Service and Army Corps of Engineers. That hat was claimed by my eldest son, Keith, who is retired from active duty Air Force work that took him into the Iraq combat zone. Hadda give it to him, of course! OH, I do write combat sci-fi and hard sci-fi, both with lots of wild and weird aliens in them. My current new title out is Stellar Assassin. Reviews and reactions are welcome! Tom.
