Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s plays Faust, A Tragedy, Parts One and Two, is one of his most famous works. He began writing Part One in 1806 and completed Part Two in 1831. Many modern adaptations of the Faust story use Goethe’s version as their source. This is our third encounter with the Faust legend and it will surely be the most complex version we will read and discuss.
