Melissa I read a book once that was a historical romance involving a soft hearted prostitute who through out the book talked about how if she found the man who loved her and she loved back she would bake them, I think she called them, hand cookies to show her love.

I don't remember why the hero & heroine were going somewhere together but they were traveling somewhere together. I remember that towards the end she was suppored to marry someone else. I remember cowboys saying she was a soft hearted prostitute and if you told her a sad story she wouldn't charge.

That really is all I can remember about the book. I'd like to find it and read it again. I was hoping that maybe one of you ladies knew what it was?

Bess Greenfield (bessgreenfield) | 3 comments I've been trying to recall the name of a book I read years ago. I loved it and would like to find more by that author, but I don't recall her name. It was set in England during either World War I or II, and there was a love triangle. A young woman falls in love with a handsome and rich, but self-centered man. She gets pregnant. He goes to war and basically leaves her to fend for herself. She meets another man who treats her much better than the first one did. Then her first love comes back. He's jealous and wants her back and she must choose. It was on the literary side (very descriptive), and I think it had "Stars" in the title. Can anyone help me out?
