*Andrejcick* (seward78courtright) | 8 comments Before Fifty Shades came out, I watched Secretary and thought, that would be a good book and wondered if I could find any that were similar. I also had the same thoughts about Painted Veil and most recently, Wild Orchid and Nine 1/2 Weeks. Unless I am not looking in the right places, they don't make movies with dangerous heroes very often. Unless you count action movies. But I would love to see more movies geared towards women that had less sappy men. But, anyway, before I go off track too much, I thought it would be cool to have a list of;

"If you liked [insert HOT movie] then you will definitely LOVE [insert list of HOT books]"

Thoughts?

The Specialist is one of my favorite Stallone movies because it reminds me of a good romantic suspense novel. I would love to find some books like that.

Close as I have come:

Iguana Bay by Theresa Weir
Reckless Lover by Carly Bishop

One of the reasons I love Anne Stuart is because her books feel like a good suspense novel. Pretty much all of them, but particularly the Ice series:

Black Ice
Cold As Ice
Ice Blue
Ice Storm
Fire And Ice
On Thin Ice

I actually like to write stories that feel like good romantic suspense movies.

Another good one is No Mercy, with Richard Gere and Kim Basinger. I love on the run RS (and when the hero kidnaps the heroine).

And the I-Team series by Pamela Clare definitely has a cinematic appeal of steamy romantic suspense with great action/suspense.

No Mercy is definitely on my to-watch list. High Tide by Jude Deveraux is a good on the run romance.

High Tide was very good. I love the Montgomery/Taggarts!

*Andrejcick* (seward78courtright) | 8 comments Those books are easy to love and the need to collect them all is strong. I would say if you like Deveraux you will also love Johanna Lindsey and early (historical stuff) Julie Garwood. Also some Lisa Jackson.

I've seen part of them. I was a bit too young to watch them when they came out, although I did sneak.

I really liked Year of the Dragon with Mickey Rourke. Have you seen that one?

OH man, I cut my teeth on Deveraux and Lindsey, and later Garwood. I read a historical by Lisa Jackson I enjoyed as well.

*Andrejcick* (seward78courtright) | 8 comments No, I haven't seen Year of the Dragon. I don't recall seeing that one on Netflix, but now you got me curious.
Another good bad boy hero in a movie is George Clooney in Out of Sight, but that came from a book, so that one is easy. Others similar to that would also go on my to-read list.

If you like the movie The Big Easy then you might like Lucky's Lady. Both are set in Louisiana.

Out of Sight does have a good RS novel vibe!

I haven't read Lucky's Lady yet, but that makes me want to read it very soon, Pamela.

I would love a series like The Transporter with Jason Statham. A great mix of action and romance. I thought part III was especially romantic, but also part one. Does anyone know of any books like this?

I wasn't sure if I had read the Harmony books you spoke of until I read the pet dust bunny part. Hahaha. THAT is definitely unforgettable. :) Pretty good recommendation too.
I have seen all the movies you mentioned and books somewhat like Transporter would absolutely be cool!

namericanwordcat | 242 comments Okay watching the newest retelling of the Three Musketeers and actor Ray Stevenson and the character Porthos is hot. He is a big tall brawler who is also very smart. So, books?

I like Ray a lot. He was great in King Arthur too.

I don't know if you'd find him appealing, but Colin in From This Moment On is described as big and loutish and loves fighting.

namericanwordcat | 242 comments LOL I have that book. Yea! I will read it soon. My favorite hero of all time is Lock from Mane Squeeze. He is a big tall brawler who is also very smart. I like this type a great deal.
