I'm just now seeing this thread! THE ELEMENTALS was my first book by him (now a personal favorite and read at least 3 times). LOVE his style!

I loved The Elementals, and plan on starting Katie tomorrow:-).

I bought Katie at the weekend. I was supposed to be on a train for a few hours and knew I'd finish The Elementals. It didn't work out that way, unfortunately, so I'm still to finish The Elementals but tonight I shall be doing just that.

Brilliant writing.

It really is brilliant writing. McDowell deserves to be more well known-his work demands it. I'm happy to see that happening now.

I'm reading Blood Rubies....I wish Michael Mcdowell was alive to write more books because I've unfortunately run out of books to read by him.

And...he wrote "Beetlejuice"...

I read The Elementals on your recommendation a couple of years ago. It was really good! It's time I read more of his!

Most people know I just love the guy. If it weren't for Valancourt Books, most of McDowell's work would still be unknown. Original versions of his work are very hard to find, and often very expensive once found.

Which books currently available do you recommend most? Besides The Elementals.
