SciFi and Fantasy Book Club discussion

Hi Everyone--

I need a little help here. Last year, I read a series of fantasy books and cannot remember the titles or author and I would like to recommend them to my sister. The story is about Grace, an ER doctor and Travis, a bar owner. They go to a parallel world and the first book talks a lot about how hot it is. If you know what these are, I would really appreciate hearing from you!
