booklover | 13 comments this series has been on my list of tbr for a while. i actually started it months ago and just finished it. i was just wondering, for those of you that have read it, does the series get better? or is it all like the first book? i thought the book was okay, but the development of romance/love was really lacking for me. so if all the books are like this, then i won't bother trying to read any more of the series.

thanks! :)

PepperP0t | 539 comments as with any long series some books are better than others. in the early books #3 was a favorite. as the world gets built it does improve in terms of character development and interaction and doesn't seem so stilted. i've recently started the New Species (Laurann Dohner) series which is similar but seems good and ACRO (Sydney Croft) is similiar as well.

Deanne | 209 comments Some of the books are good while others are lacking. I read the New Species as well and they were good, they are very similar.

Allison | 247 comments I agree that book #3 was the best of the earlier books. I've skipped a few books here and there, but I keep reading because of the underlying story now. I personally like New Species much better.

Dawn's Awakening and Jacob's Faith are absolute favorite. I really enjoy the series. I haven't read the last three books, but I've read every book and novella. Lora Leigh is one of my favorite erotica writers. Her Elite Ops and Tempting SEALs are really good too.

The series does get better. The first book I didn't care for and the 2nd was okay. The 3rd book in the series, Elizabeth's Wolf (Breeds, #3) by Lora Leigh got me reallly interested in it. The breeding hormone phenomenon also develops all throughout the series. All the books do have a lot of sex due to the breeding hormone, however, the plots make the reads so much better in the later books. If you do go ahead & read the series, you'll notice the books get better & better the farther you read into the series.

booklover | 13 comments Hmm okay thanks everyone!! I might give it another chance and read books 2-4, then decide. I just found the plot wasn't that great, but if it gets better then it might be worth reading more.

namericanwordcat | 231 comments Coyote's Mate (Breeds, #18) by Lora Leigh was my favorite of the series.

Alaina Lang (alainashilling) | 1 comments Depending on if you read them in chronological order the story develops and gets better however the publication dates differ based on publishers, she is popular enough in this series alone with a strong enough reader following to have had 3 different ones so far and has filled in story line gaps in different publication years. To really get into the story lines I would start with the first chronological book in the series and go from there and yes they do get better also there is a change in the mating hormones that adds to the story lines as mother nature prefects what man originally made. You can find the chronological reading order on Lora Leigh's website!

Lynn Reynolds (goodreadscomelylibrarysec) | 10 comments I found that I really enjoyed the books that she did with Ellora's Cave.

Chelsay (rad_candy) | 8 comments I haven't read all of these yet but I understand where you are coming from, I've read a handful of these and one can be amazing and the next can be repetitive. I find that I often get sick of them, move onto another series and then I go back to them again! So far my fav has been Tanners Scheme

Samantha | 117 comments I read most of them and enjoyed some. The thing is that I didn't read them on order. I still have to read some of the earlier ones. What I've come to realize is that if I read one or two and take a break, I like them more.

I agree that some books were not so great and some were good. I think you need to read the first book to understand what is going on. If I could recommend any of them I would read Elizabeth's Wolf (Breeds, #3) by Lora Leigh In my opinion it was the best in the series. You definitely don't need to read them in order.
