Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I want to sort out a reading list of our authors stand alone short stories and novellas and read as many of them as I can in a week. I don't want huge collections of short stories as they take as long as a novel, in most cases.

Could you please post the title and an amazon.uk link to your book(s) for me so I can make sure I've got it and can then find it in my archive to add to a collection on my kindle?

Thanks groupites!

The 'Week of the Indies' commences on Feb 19th!

Jonathan Hill | 1599 comments Hi Patti,

I can recommend (well, they are mine!) 'Maureen goes to Venice' and 'A Letter for Maureen'. They are both stand-alone longish shorts or shortish novellas, whichever way you look at it.

What part of amazon.uk didn't you understand?

The Welsh aren't thick. You need to live there longer, Will. ;)

TonyQ (tonytheq) | 175 comments Hi Patti
I've just managed (at last) to upload my first completed short story to the 'creative writing' section of goodreads 'Journey Home'. It didn't give me a link so I don't know if you can get to it.
TQ

Find the page it's on and copy and paste the URL?

message 33: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Well Patti, knowing your penchant for the gruesome, you might enjoy David Haynes brand new quartet of shorts, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mask-of-the-M...

Very Victorian sounding, too.

When you are on the page you want to link to, highlight the address in your address bar, right click and copy then paste into your message.
Simples ;-)

message 39: by TonyQ (new)

TonyQ (tonytheq) | 175 comments The address bar!! It was the only place I didn't look!! Ha! Will do it in future. You've read that one anyway - give or take a couple of tweaks.

message 40: by Beverley (new)

Beverley Carter | 186 comments You could try http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tales-Strange... there are eight short stories here, of differing lengths, so you could pick and choose according to how much time you have at that particular moment! They are along the lines of Tales of the Unexpected / Twilight Zone, if you like that sort of thing. :)

Nick Wastnage (nickwastnage) | 196 comments I might be too late, but you could try Love, Life, and Loss: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Love-Life-and.... Fifteen shorts – some very short, three about 5k words.

Geoffrey Wakeling | 111 comments Hi Patti,

I'm not sure whether you're into zombie story's, but my novella - Pacifier 6, The Shadows Within, is an attempt to break away from the standard zombie attack book. It might be a little too long for what you want (30K) words, but I thought I'd mention it.

Gonna be great being there with Gingerlily and discussing what we're both reading as well.
