Gemini Adams (geminiadams) | 4 comments I'm running my third GR giveaway at the moment and I just realized that there is no function for entrants to choose to share the giveaway either before or after they have entered.

How COOL would it be if they could spread the word in this way if they thought it was something that would interest their FB friends or Twitter followers.

Sylvie | 61 comments Yes, Gemini, this might be an idea. I've just finished my first GR giveaway and questioning what good it may do me!

Gemini Adams (geminiadams) | 4 comments I too "share" on Facebook, etc, but the point of the share function within the Giveaway pages would encourage others, i.e. the entrants to share thus making more people aware of both Good Reads and the giveaways. Although now I am wondering if when you enter a giveaway it automatically posts to your FB page if the two are linked. Anyone know if this is the case?

that'd be awesome!

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) Of course, every time a contestant shared they could actually be decreasing their own odds of winning.

Patrick Brown | 276 comments I think a "Share on Facebook" button would be great for the giveaway page. It would probably be used primarily by the person creating the giveaway, but it would be very valuable. I believe there's already a ticket for this, actually, though I have no idea when it might be worked on.

Gemini Adams (geminiadams) | 4 comments Debbie -- yes indeed they would. But I think that people's desire to share something they "like" is strong and might supersede their desire to win.

Holly Church | 2 comments I'm upset, just joined the GR system and looked at the Giveaways, but as i am an indi writer I only publish on e-readers - but it say's that they dont have a system to cope with e-reader only giveaways, dah! Sure it might have been a slight issue 10 yrs ago, but i.e Amazon allows you to gift a copy of your book to any person who has an account and an system that can take the book i.e. computer, reader, tablet - the list goes on(I think KOBO and ePub do the same) therefore in my eyes this issue should be easy to overcome ... somebody pls allow us Indi writers a chance to shift copies of out books!

I was really surprised by this too. Tell you what: let's have our own giveaways. We can use facebook, twitter and blogs.

Holly Church | 2 comments Well I agree, I have budgeted for Ten copies of my book to give away via Amazon, as I said, all u need is a computer as you can download the kindle reader onto it, then gift the copies to people who want it ... I am not a happy bunny ...
