Kristen | 6 comments Hey All!
I have read a lot of novels and I have mostly favored series that gravitate around female kickass humor filled heroines, preferably dealing in the paranormal and recently I have come to the realization that I don’t have a series to start up on again. I figured I’d list a bunch of series that I enjoyed immensely and recommend to anyone highly and hopeful get some good recommendations in return.
Thank you in advance! (:

Kara Gillian Series by Diana Rowland
Bloodhound Files Series by D.D Barant
Charley Davidson Series by Darynda Jones
Cassandra Palmer Series by Karen Chance
Riley Jenson Guardian Series by Keri Arthur
The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison
Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris
Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews
World of the Lupi Series by Eileen Wilks
Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost
Anita Blake Series by Laurell K Hamilton – Read the whole series by got very drawn out after a while, wished Ms Hamilton brought back the kickass loving Anita back from the beginnings of the series
Guild Hunter Series by Nalini Singh – I liked this series until the novels switched its focus off of the main character. I tend to not like series that do this but I highly recommend, this author brought about a great supernatural world.

Lisa | 1 comments I just started reading the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. With each book, I like it more. Mercy is a great character! It's a popular series, and when I read the first one (Moon Called), I wasn't sure why people loved it so much. But I continued and just love it now. Another series I liked was Richele Meade's succubus series. It's been quite awhile since I read it, so I don't know if I would describe the lead character as " kick ass," but I could really relate to her and liked her quite a bit.
I love Kim Harrison's Hollow series too. I will have to look at the others you mentioned.

Meghan Doidge | 39 comments Have you tried any of Kelley Armstrong's series? I am a fan of her adult and YA books (though the YA aren't quite as good as the adult - IMHO).

Also what about the Fever Series? I had to struggle to get into the first one ... not a fan of Mac at first, but overall, enjoyed them. Darkfever

Not a female lead - which I too prefer - but I am currently working my way through the Dresden Files as well, and enjoying them a fair bit. Storm Front

message 7: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series. I've read two of them so far and it is very good.

Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep

There's also the spinoff series from Riley Jenson - it's pretty good.
Darkness Unbound (Dark Angels, #1) by Keri Arthur

Rachel Caine has a wonderful series called Weather Wardens. Great heroine, amazing Djinn hero, nonstop action. Ill Wind (Weather Warden, #1) by Rachel Caine

Anita (nitathebookworm) | 4 comments I second the Mercy Thompson series, especially if you like a completed series since the last book Frost Burned is coming out this year. Mercy is absolutely the most lovable heroine there is.

Michelle(Chelle) aka Nightshade - Cake Whisperer (michmag) Have you read Rhiannon's Law???

Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between (Rhiannon's Law, #1) by J.A. Saare The Renfield Syndrome (Rhiannon's Law, #2) by J.A. Saare The Ripple Effect (Rhiannon's Law, #3) by J.A. Saare

Excellent series with humor, kickass heroine and sexy vamp.....

2nd the recommendation on the Dark Angels Series (spin off of the Riley Jenson series) and the Mercy Thompson has been a great series as well. Anya Bast has 2 series the Dark Magic Series and the Enchantment Series that are both very good IMO. Love Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series, though she's not really kick ass she holds her own pretty well. Kimberly Frost has a Southern Witch Series which I have just fallen in love with. Love that one so much.

Kristen | 6 comments Thank you all for your recommendations thus far (:
From all of your posts 3 series caught my attention
- The riley jenson spin off
- Jennifer estep’s elemental assassin series
- Rihannon’s Law Series
Also, I have heard highly of Kelley Armstrong in general but not a specific series of hers, does anyone recommend one? I tend to stay away from the YA side just because its not as fun ;) And I tend to like series that keep to the same main character throughout
* P.S I am sorry I am so picky lol and if you all haven’t checked out some of the series I have mentioned you should definitely give them a try

Kelley Armstrong DOES NOT keep the same main character throughout all her books - aka Women of the Otherworld. - but Elena (main character of Bitten) does appear or is mentioned in all those books), so, if you are up for it, I would start with Bitten. The Elena narrated books are my favs. The YA books are trilogies. Each trilogy keeps the same main character.

Kristen | 6 comments Thanks so much Meghan, will definitely check Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld
