I loved this book. It is probably one of the best romance novels I've read in long time even though it is technically not categorized as a "romance". This should definitely be a pick (or an alt pick)for an upcoming month. It's relatively short and reads quickly, so it's perfect.

Quick Summary: Love story of Achilles and his companion Patroclus (including the events of the Iliad)

Chase | 5 comments Forgot to add that there is a fantasy element to the book because of the active involvement of Gods in the novel.

Enjoy! :)

It's really a sweet book, something I never associated with ultimate douchebag Achilles.

booksofthedead (jypsel) | 61 comments Ah, I literally just bought this book in an airport not too long ago. I am definitely going to have to give it a read very soon now :)

Glaiza I really liked this one. It would be fun one to recommend. The prose is a little poetic - reminded me a little of Jacqueline Carey in a way.

Candice Nunu (nunu_noodles) Haven't read it yet myself, but I remember the book chain I work for releasing it as a Recommended Fathers Day read, specifically for our older men.
Lot's of them snapped it up, assuming it was just the usual gory war thing, and definitely had their eyes opened a bit more than anticipated!
Hilarious, and our marketing team copped a lot of crud for not actually researching the book, but I feel that if it expanded any of those buyers genres a little bit, it was for the benefit of us all :)

Glaiza I can imagine the mayhem! That case reminds me of when a box of romance/erotic novels were dropped off at the secondhand book shop/side office. The guys at the office were making fun of the covers until they actually started skimming and reading some of the passages. A few quotes were funny but one of the guys commented that this was really good because there was a plot that led up to sexy times. So exposure can be indeed be a good thing =)
