We have discussion of the good reads on Sufism and there some really interesting reads, but I thought it might be interesting to talk about other books we are reading or have read. It could be anything a novel, a historical fiction or a anything you like.

I recently read The Blood of Flowers, which is based on 17th century Persia. It is a story of talented 14 year old girl who travels from their small village to the great city of the time Isfahan to live with her uncle.

I was completely absorbed in the story, characters, and scene of this book. I loved the small stories within it, the description of a particular woman’s life and a look into the various life experiences of all the character.

This novel provides a fascinating look into the culture of 17th century Persia, especially from the perspective of women. I was really captivated by the in depth look at the art of carpet-making.
