Restarting my quest - November 2020 as I never got off the ground in 2015 other than created my thread.

Now I am an apprentice to a mighty warrior so will learn the ropes to survive in this strange environment.

A newly minted hero starts nothing but 10 health.

The Rules

Levelling
Heroes advance up the levels when experience is achieved.
Leveling up heals your hero fully and increases the HP available by 2 per level.

Total experience XP needed to level up.
Level 1 - 0
Level 2 - 5
Level 3 - 15
Level 4 - 30
Level 5 - 45
Level 6 - 90
Level 7 - 135
Level 8 - 225
Level 9 - 360
Level 10 - 585
Level 11 - 945


Max Health:

Level 1: Max hp 10
Level 2: Max hp 12
Level 3: Max hp 14
Increases 2hp per level until
Level 11: Max hp 30

Read 1 book that's #1 in the series to gain level 1 magic staff.
Add a #1 and #2 in a series to upgrade to level 2 (total: 2 #1's and 1 #2)
Add a #1, #2, and #3 to upgrade to level 3.

Sword - Attack = Level of Sword + 2
Gain levels by reading taller pyramids of page numbers. A book that's 350 pages may count for a 300+ book, a 200+ book or a 100+ book.
Read 1 book that's 100 pages+ for level 1 sword.
Read an additional 1 book that's 100 pages+ and one book that's 200 pages+ to upgrade to level 2

(view spoiler)[ You are so busy looking for monsters that you fail to see a glowing green and gold circle on the path in front of you. You step into it and after being buffeted and spun you arrive in drop bear country - it was a portal to Downunder Land.

There is another glowing green and gold circle beside you, the way home, but this portal has a huge Rainbow Serpent coiled in front it to prevent entry.

“To passssss,” said the Serpent, “you mussssssst read bookssssss of my choice!”

To remove the Serpent you must do the following:

Earn +5 Experience for reading 5 books set in Australia.
Earn an extra +1 Experience if one of the Books is set in the state of Tasmania
