Tati Yeah

Danielle ♥ (readwithmedani) | 2410 comments No, I haven't. I was wondering if anyone has done a Jumanji challenge before? Should we just sign up for which ones we want, first come first serve? And then assign the rest, the unchosen ones, taking turns & trying to keep it even amongst us? And if two or more people want to do the same one, we can do something on random.org to chose the person who gets it?

Or are there other ideas on how to divy these up?

message 13: by Tati (new)

Tati This is the first Jumanji challenge ever in this group.

I'd particularly step up your random.org idea and just use it to distribute everything, make it more fair than first come, first served (I mean, we do have different time zones, for one)

I agree. I think we should try the random.org. I mean worst case we have to shuffle around after, but we should at least try the random first.

message 15: by Danielle ♥ (last edited May 24, 2015 01:59PM) (new)

Danielle ♥ (readwithmedani) | 2410 comments Ok that's two votes for random.org to assign all the books.. Let's see, what does Jessica & Berta say? I don't care either way so I'll vote if it's two against two :)

I also posted in the Team Progress thread to keep an official log of who is reading what. If we do go with the random.org idea I'll do it for all four parts of the game & post it there.

message 16: by Tati (new)

Tati Awesome!

Just one little thing girls, you might want to consider when you're allocating each of the descriptions, that some people will read a lot more than others, so one person may be able to read 40 books, whilst someone else may only read 10 ☺

message 18: by Danielle ♥ (last edited May 24, 2015 02:07PM) (new)

Danielle ♥ (readwithmedani) | 2410 comments I can commit to reading 10-12 books. What can everyone else commit to? I'll use that to help me divy up, if we go the random.org route, to give the bigger readers more books. Like Bookbuyer said, we can shuffle around afterwards to fit needs/wants accordingly :D

I can read about 5-10. But those would likely be long books. About 400-600 pages.

message 20: by Tati (new)

Tati I can commit to at least 10, it's hard to pin down the number because of work, though

message 21: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I've already started finding some books I can read for any of the books for the first challenge. So far the only one I don't have any for is the one for Soil/Box.

message 22: by Tati (new)

Tati Have you read Not a Drop to Drink (Not a Drop to Drink, #1) by Mindy McGinnis or Partials (The Partials Sequence, #1) by Dan Wells or Defiance (Defiance #1) by C.J. Redwine or Breathe (Breathe, #1) by Sarah Crossan or even The Martian by Andy Weir ?

O.O TY! I have Partials, so that should work for Soil! :)

Jessica, Are you okay with assigning the categories by using random.org? If so, we can use what I posed on our Team Progress thread, which was assigned by using random.org & like Bookbuyer said, we can shuffle around as needed.

For example, just post here if you need to trade or give up a category for any reason such as, you are reading too many books, you really dispise the category, you can't find anything you want to spend your time reading after thoroughly looking, etc. and we will work it out!

Using random.org, I was assigned this category! My parents gave me The Martian last summer as a birthday gift and I haven't been able to read it, so since I own it, that's probably what I'll read. Thank you for the great suggestions, Tati!

message 28: by Tati (new)

And, girls, if anyone is struggling either to finish their assigned description or a book, just let us know and we'll help!

Awesome!!! I own The Lying Game and have been meaning to read it!! I'm trying to pick out my books now :) & Before I Fall is a great choice for bullying. I read it not long ago and it was good. The main character definitely bullied some less popular girls in that book.

Hey Jessica!! Are you okay with what you've been assigned to? You can view the assignments on our Team N Progress thread. Please confirm this isn't too many books for you, as well, because Tati, Bookbuyer, and myself are all big readers and can take more.

message 45: by Danielle ♥ (new)

Danielle ♥ (readwithmedani) | 2410 comments Oh, looks like we've gained someone!! Ubha has been added to our list above. Ubha, please comment & let us know you're here & committed & I will redistribute some assignments, unless you'd like to jump into reading for Part 4, books whose titles begin with J, U, M, A, N, J, and I!

We're still waiting to hear from you too, Berta! :)

message 46: by Tati (new)

Tati hm, there is Anne Rice, though her books are long-ish. And there is also Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake or Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (Between, #1) by April Genevieve Tucholke or The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1) by Carrie Ryan

Danielle ♥ (readwithmedani) | 2410 comments Tati wrote: "you can use mine, T, LOL"

I can use anyone's initial; that gives me the options: D, T, J, B, U & whatever Bookbuyer's real initial is, if she wants to share! We have a B, for Berta, that's why I thought I'd ask Bookbuyer, if she shares, it may give me one more option to choose from! :)

Although Under the Never Sky is a June Buddy Read, I think! But we haven't heard from Ubah yet.

My first initial is A so you can use that. And no one else has an A either so it works out nicely :)
