We are going to be starting the latest book in the series The Mark of Athena over the weekend if anyone else wants to join in or has read it already!!

Very Excited!!!!!

So I made it about 100 pages in and I know a lot hasn't really happened so far but I am really curious what this whole Leo is Hazel's Sammy or Sammy relative, thing. I really have no idea where we are going with that at all!!

I work all weekend. But I believe I get 2 one hour lunches today. So I hope to make a dent. I am on page 21 right now

I feel like the pages are moving quickly but we still haven't gotten anywhere! I think Percy and Jason together is adorable the way they try to one-up each other and act all cocky. lol Annabeth is making me nervous though I really hope she doesn't cause anything horrible.

I think Annabeth is really going to have some problems in this book. I can feel it. I can't believe Leo open fired on the Camp...I am at the part where Leo and Hazel are on the island getting Lime and Celestial Bronze

I agree, not going to end well for Annabeth in this one. I am glad to see that she has found a good girl friend in Piper though, it's about time she had someone like she had with Thalia before she left.

I don't know how far you've gotten, but the Hercules situation is kinda exactly how I pictured him being lol I also feel like we aren't going to get anything solved in this book because there are A LOT of things they have to get done and I'm more than half way through!

I dont think I am caught up with you yet. They are on their way to Charleston where I am. I did a LOT of reading this morning and yesterday trying to catch up to where you are lol (Mardi Gras had me thrown off)

I'm only ahead because I got snowed in over the weekend and had nothing else I could but read! 3 feet of snow will do that.

I got chills when Annabeth was in the room by herself at the Fort. Not. Cool.

I know what you mean when you say that you don't feel like it is getting anywhere and there is too much to be done. I just got to Hercules. He gave Piper and Jason their quest. I should have it finished this weekend for sure :)

Way too much to get done, I'm sure there are gonna be some major cliffhangers by the end of this. I just hope they all survive, we haven't had a death of one of them yet in this series. That would be really sad.

I'm where Annabeth just left with Tiberinus to the start of her quest. I bet the rest of this book is going to be primarily her quest and maybe rescuing Nico because the next book is The House of Hades.

lol I said the same thing about Nico, he cant die he gets his own title! I'm at the same place as you are, she just went into the building, I'm not sure I like this splitting up thing. It's divided the book into two completely different stories.

I just finished and all I have to say is that I am so mad the next one doesn't come out til October! :O

I just finished it. OMG!!! Really?!? Really?!? It ended like that!!!! And we have to wait HOW many months for the next one!?!

RIGHT?!?! I almost died when it ended. In fact I didn't even realized I had finished it until I hit a glossary. The two biggest characters just fell down and hole and your going to make me wait til October?!?!

I KNOW! Someone needs to write Rick Riordan a letter and give him a few words. Lol. I hate catching up with series for that reason!

I completely agree with that whole sentence. That cliffhanger was way bigger than anything in the first two.

I look forward to book 4 with you in the fall lol.

I'm curious what you thought about the Hazel/Leo connection?

I am hoping that it is put more in the next book. I don't think it should be a romantic connection, simply because I dont think I could date the grandson of my crush from the 40s....lol. Plus I like Hazel and Frank, I think they go well together.

I think it'll be a little creepy if it goes a romantic way, plus I agree Frank and Hazel are so cute together. I do feel bad for Leo though, everyone else on the ship is paired up, maybe he can get a girlfriend in the next one lol

I hope he finds someone, but Nemesis did say he would always be the 7th wheel

I think maybe in this set of stories, I just don't see it. He has that whole struggle going on, and I am just not certain if he will find anyone in this series. Maybe if a new series is created with the characters after this one..but who knows! I wasn't really expecting the situations that happened in this book either LOL.

I swear Mr Riordan is just showing off at this point, just throwing all these stories or legends at them for fun. Here's King Midas for you and Hercules and whoever else I know about and can write it in. How many smart legends can I fit in a series plus all the god/goddess stories too.

Well, if you think about it, it is kind of ADD yeah? I dont know. I guess I can understand it since the original series was written for his son that has problems and was given as bedtime stories. So I can kinda understand and follow why the story itself is as ADHD as the characters in it

I can see where it could be called ADD-ish and I have no problem with the way it plays out, it's always entertaining when they run into all these stories. I just don't know how he does it!

Maybe he can do it because his son has ADD and he knows that many of us seem to need that kind of chaos LOL. I know i do!

LOL very true. That very reason is why I read like 4 books at once. Even if I love it, I have to break it up somehow.

Yes, I have it on my table as we speak. I just finished one of my other library books, and wanted to start some of the news that i bought recently

If you want to read it, I started it a few months ago but got distracted by other books. I gotta finish two books I'm near the end of now but could probably start in a couple days.

House of Hades comes out in a couple weeks! He's having an event a few towns over on the day it comes out and I tried to get tickets for it but they sold out in seconds :(

how cool would that have been! I'd have been so jealous. I'm going to preorder a copy soon.

SO....HOH comes out tomorrow and my library already has 104 holds on it...IT'S NOT EVEN OUT YET!!

wow! I pre-ordered it on amazon, it was $11....I decided its a series I want to own lol---But I am so ready for it!!!! If you have a kindle, you might be able to "borrow" it? I am not sure how the borrow system on amazon works, well at least regarding new books.

I'm trying not to buy books if the library has them lol but I feel like if I wait for the library it'll be next March! I'm not sure how the kindle sharing works but I'm thinking of just buying it I have the other two on my nook, might as well keep the series together!
