I used author's initials for both books.
For book one, I read The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro. K and I are both straight letters.
For book two, I read Dead Scared by Sharon Bolton. S and B are both crooked letters.
30.2 - Jonquil’s task: Takin’ It to the Streets
For book 1, I used option 1, and read The City of Falling Angels, set in Venice. Venice has always seemed to me a magical place - just the idea of a place with canals and gondolas instead of roads and cars........
For book 2, I used option 2 and read A God in Ruins. There is a scene in the book in which one of the main characters went to York and found that it was both Saturday and Bank Holiday weekend, and the streets were filled with "stags and hens" - groups of men, many in costumes including bananas, zombies, and condoms, and women celebrating "hen parties," many in costumes - appears to be bachelorette parties, since there are references to older women with the groups who appear to be mothers of the brides. Many people, drunkenly wandering the streets, having a great time!
