What did you think of it? Favorite or least favorite characters? Favorite or least favorite part? Will you read the next one?

BookOwl BookOwl | 21 comments Yessss! I thoroughly enjoyed this one! It was great and it even brought me out of my first ever reading slump.

Mal is my favorite of course, her character found a place in my heart.

All the characters were okay.

My favorite part is when Mal saved Evie. Even though it went against how she was raised and her mother's orders.

I can't wait for the second book, I'm hoping Mal and the Prince will finally meet, for real this time.

bhavi (bhavireadsalittle) | 10 comments I would really want there to be a second book but unfortunately this is not going to have one... On the bright side the story is going to be continued with a disney channel original movie called 'Descendants'. It is first going to be aired on July 31 on disney channel. There is a whole youtube channel with all the information and trailers in it... you can check that out over here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJVn...

Anyways, my favourite character was Carlos (Cruella de vils' son) because he is the brain behind everything in the book! He invented the machine which caused the events of the book! He is also quite nerdy and also I think Prince Ben comes to a close second! I really liked seeing things from the prince's POV as he tried to negotiate with Grumpy! I did not really have a favorite part but i liked the parts where each of the descendants were challenged during their journey to retrieve the scepter!I also liked the starting bit where Mal has a dream about the Prince and later we find out that the prince had had a dream about her too! What I did not like was the unnecessary scene of Prince Ben with his girlfriend... Sure, we got to understand the prince's problems then but i thought they were kind of obvious. I cannot wait for the movie to be aired... we finally will get to know what was Ben's 'brilliant idea' at the end...(At least those of us who have not watched the trailer will be surprised)!

Rachelle Licon | 11 comments I have mixed feelings on this one. I didn't start liking the book until they started their quest (so about half way through the book). At first, I found the characters mostly unlikeable - while evil can be fun, bullying is less so. It also seemed in the first half, that the book was mostly name dropping, to see how many villains from different Disney movies could be referenced in a short amount of time. Once the quest began though, the characters developed more depth and became slightly more relatable and more interesting. By the end of the book, I was intrigued enough to be willing to read a sequel -- only to find out none was coming and that the sequel will be a Disney Channel Movie. Which I usually enjoy, and I'll give this a chance - but preferring books, it was a bit of a let down.

I gave the book 3 stars. I liked it, but it's not one I'd probably ever feel the desire to re read.

If I had to pick a favorite character it would be Carlos or Evie.
