Janet (octoberbabye) Hello, just joined this group. I answered a book challenge in Jan, but cannot find the page to update my progress. Does anyone else find it difficult to navigate this site?
I challenged myself to read 150 books this year. I read on a kindle, netbook, phone and of course with book in hand. Usually I am reading three books at a time, often finishing them in a week or 10 days.
Fortunately I have can read while at work- I am a caregiver.
I have read 12 books so far this year. Don't know if I am on the average, one of them was 600 pages so that one carried over past 10 days.
Hope to make some friends here.
Happy reading, Janet

Alison G. (agriff22) | 543 comments Hi Janet! Glad you joined. What you have to do is go to the discussion page and just like you did this message, make a new post that says something like "Janet's 2013 books" or whatever you want. Then you go on there like I am doing here and just comment on your own discussion when u are done with a book. Does that help? Or are you talking about the widget on the first page. In order for that to work and count your books, you need to go into the book you are reading on here and add an end date to the book. Aka mark it as finished. Then it should show up on the widget. If you have any more questions then dont be afraid to ask. There are a lot of us on here that can help. I haven't had problems navigating the site at all!

Hi, Janet. Sometimes I get lost navigating the site, too, and I've been here for... 6 or 7 years! For the most part, you eventually figure things out. Other than that, ditto to everything Alison said, especially the part about asking questions when you need to! We're VERY friendly in this group! :)

Oh, but I will add that if you start a discussion thread for your own reading list (the "Janet's 2013 books" that Alison mentioned), you can file it in the F-J folder, which will make it easier to find in the future. All you have to do: when you start your thread, there will be a "folder" drop-down menu. Pick F-J, and when you post your comment, your thread will get filed there!
