Now I want pancakes. ;)"
I know where you can get pancakes . . . 4 weeks from now ;)"
haha. Good thing I went to the store today so I can have them tomorrow!

Sorry, I should have included that. It's a one-book task."
No prob, that just means I'm all fixed up - I'm reading a #8 (and getting my tasks mixed up, gah!).

Could I have The Wedding Bees: A Novel of Honey, Love, and Manners noted for "Food" genre? Thanks!

Although failing that, I might borrow Teodora's idea as The Gunslinger is on my list as well.

However ... Close Range: Brokeback Mountain and Other stories has over 300 pages and the exact same cover art.

Whoops. That was my mistake. Thanks for pointing it out so I can correct it, Book Concierge!

Yes it will because you can ignore the middle initial."
Awesome! Thanks :D

From July 3-12, Calgary will be hosting the 103rd edition of the Calgary Stampede. As part of my effort to bring a little piece of Calgary to the world, my task is centered around this celebration.
Required: State which option you chose when you post.
Option 1: For many people, wearing Western clothing is part of the fun. Suits and ties disappear, to be replaced by denim skirts, checkered shirts, and, of course, cowboy hats. Although the white cowboy hat is an official symbol of the Stampede, hats of many colors can be seen: black, brown, and even (shudder!) pink.
➜ Read a book that has a cowboy hat on the cover. Ex:
Required: Include the cover when you post.
Option 2: The Stampede always kicks off on the first Friday in July with a huge parade through the downtown core, and it is most of the most popular events on the Stampede agenda. For that reason, it's important to get downtown early to stake out a spot on the parade route. Otherwise, all you'll be able to see are the backs of other people's cowboy hats!
➜ Read a book whose author's initial can be found in the phrase STAMPEDE PARADE. Letters may be used as many times as they appear in STAMPEDE PARADE. Middle names or initials may be ignored.
Option 3: The rodeo is the central event of the Stampede, and of the rodeo events, bull riding is the most popular. In this sport, the rider attempts to remain on the bull for 8 seconds, while the enraged bull does everything it can to prevent that. The bull usually wins, so this is the sport for people who like to cheer for the underdog. Personally, I think you'd have to be a huge glutton for punishment to want to be a bull rider.
➜ Read a book that is #8 in a series, as identified on Goodreads (series name, #8).
Option 4: I have to admit that I'm not into the Stampede as much as most Calgarians are. I'm not a big rodeo fan, I'm content to stay home and watch the parade on TV, the midway rides terrify me (with the possible exception of the merry-go-round), and I'd rather have my head explode than see a cowboy hat perched atop it! However, there is one aspect of Stampede that I look forward to eagerly: the free pancake breakfasts! I attend at least one per day, and more than one if I can possibly arrange it. I know I'm having a good Stampede if I can actually feel my arteries hardening. :)
➜ Read a book with Food or Cooking as a main page genre. Genres may be stand-alone or embedded.
Happy Stampeding, everyone!
