Tor.com has the complete list here http://www.tor.com/2015/06/06/announc...

Keidy | 525 comments Aw man! I was hoping The Goblin Emperor would win! I went to the mass signing up at the Palmer House Hilton here in Chicago where the Nebula Awards are being held and got my book signed by Sarah Monette. I waited and waited for Ann Leckie, but her train was held up because the train before her got in an accident and she didn't make it. And I mainly went just for her mostly. Sarah Monette was a bonus. Pretty much stayed there hoping till they kicked me out. :(

Brendan (mistershine) | 930 comments Yay! I was really hoping Vandermeer would win. I've been a fan of his for years, and Area X is clearly his magnum opus so its fantastic to see him get the recognition he deserves for such an ambitious project.

I actually forgot it was being streamed so i'll have to watch the video when it's uploaded.

Stephen Richter (stephenofskytrain) | 1640 comments While not truly disappointed, I thought it took all three book to appreciate Annihilation. I too rooted for Goblin Emperor.

John (Taloni) Taloni (johntaloni) | 5196 comments That's cool. I didn't particularly love Annihilation but I can see why a group of authors would pick it. I was also hoping for Goblin Emperor.

terpkristin | 4407 comments Another one who would have preferred TGE to win. I've tried to start Annihilation three times since it was a pick but it's not grabbing me. I'm trying to find when I'll be in the right mindset but signs point to maybe never...

Wow, The Oscar winner for "Best Picture" was runner up to "Guardians of the Galaxy" in the Nebula's Ray Bradbury Award for "Outstanding Dramatic Presentation"

The Nebula Awards just became awesome :-)

and a book I liked lost to a book I didn't like. Boo ;-)

Rob (quintessential_defenestration) | 1035 comments I'm so dissapointed Edge of Tomorrow did poorly. That was quite possibly the most delightful piece of science fiction to be put up on the screen in years.

Great premise, terrific first two acts, but the wheels fell off in the last third and the ending made no sense. It is underrated though, but it was a strong year for SF movies.

Paulo Limp (paulolimp) | 164 comments I'm quite disappointed with the result. I read all three books of Area X, and couldn't classify them even as average books. Oh, well... The posts here are evidence that lots of people liked Annihilation, so I'll have to coldly congratulate mr. Vandermeer for his award.

Actually other than my gushing, the reaction around here seems distinctly lukewarm. TGE looks a lot more popular. Maybe Vandermeer is a "writer's writer" to Monette's "SF Fan's writer," and Nebula is a writer's writer award compared to the Hugo which is a fan vote.

Stephen Richter (stephenofskytrain) | 1640 comments I do not know if this came into the thought process, but the publishing house and writer took a rather interesting risk in the presentation of the book series. A tale told in three books released only a few months apart, I do not know if that has been done before.

It's not very common, sure, but I've seen something like it done before. I think the initial 3 volumes of Rachel Aaron's Eli Monpress books were released very closely, as well as Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles. Not the entire story, true (Aaron's ended up 5 books total, and Hearne's will be 9 total).

AndrewP (andrewca) | 2668 comments My problem with Annihilation is that it's basically Solaris in a swamp.

Ronald Carson | 135 comments I only read Ancillary Sword and Coming home. Neither of those two deserved it, IMO. They were good, but I would hope there's something better out there. I'll have to check out the others. Annihilation sounds interesting.
