Natalie | 43 comments I just finished reading Blackberry Winter by Sarah Jio and I really enjoyed it. It's part mystery, part historical fiction, part love story. What mystery have you just finished reading that you loved?

Karen (rhyta) I read Edge of Evil by J.A. Jance, the first in her Ali Reynolds series. I really liked the character and the fast moving plot. I have read 3 of the J.P. Beaumont and two of the Joanna Brady series as well. I do like this author :)

De | 6 comments So far this year I've read-- Collared( Gin & Tonic #1)by L.A. Kornetsky, A professional concierge and a bartender are hired to find a missing person while his cat and her dog add commentary. Roseanna (Martin Beck #1) by Maj Sjowell, one of the first of the Scandinavian noir genre, the body of a woman shows up in the canal, we follow the police as they solve the mystery. Set in the seventies, an interesting time capsule. The cutting Season by Attica Locke, a wonderful first novel set in the south. The main character, a divorced mom returns to the plantation where her mother was cook and she grew up, and gets the job as manager for the restored plantation where weedings and historical reenactments are staged. When a farm worker is found murdered in the adjoining field it dredges up the story of her great great grandfather, a slave who went missing.

Nanette | 28 comments I just finished "Half Moon Investigations" by Eoin Colfer. Great P.I. book for older elementary kids. Loved Fletcher Moon and all the characters, and the pacing was still fast enough to keep my interest.

Adria Williams I just read the Affair by Lee Child. It is one of the near to last Reacher novels. I have never read a Reacher novel before and I found it enjoyable. I might try some other Reacher novels in the future.

Natalie | 43 comments I just finished reading "Wait till Helen Comes" by Mary Downing Hahn. It's a JF and it is so creepy and delicious I had to ignore the dirty dishes to finish it. Well worth it..and the dirty dishes were ever so patient.

Cara | 49 comments Hi, I'm new to the group but I suppose we are talking about and reviewing the mysteries we read. I have been reading all of the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I have to say that I really love them. I love that even if you think you know who did it the how is always so intriguing and difficult to figure out. I also read a Sherlock Holmes pastiche called "The House of Silk" by Anthony Horowitz. It was good but not great, there were parts of it that I had solved when the first characters were introduced. it was hard to believe it took Holmes so long to figure it out

Darlene Nethery (dnethery) I just finished "The Medium (Emily Chambers Spirit Medium Trilogy #1)" by CJ Archer. It is an ebook set in the 1880's. This young adult book should also interest adults who like ghostly doings and a touch of romance with a spirited female character. There is also a demon involved and a guardian spirit just to make things interesting.

Darlene Nethery (dnethery) Another I just finished was "Dearly Departed, A Zombie novel" by Lia Habel. This is set in a future where Victorian norms abound. Yes, there is zombies but they are really more humans that are dead then evil things. This young adult book should interest a wide range of readers from historical setting buffs to romantic zombie lovers.

See why it was the book that got me reading in elementary school? It is great for reluctant readers. I remember my teacher being surprised that I had read so much in one night. That's right, me, who normally wouldn't read the books at all!
