Liz (liz_the_librarian) You know that excitement that comes with a favorite author published a new book? Well, I got double that excitement recently.

I had no idea that Judy Blume had another book in the works, and it just came out last week! In the Unlikely Event is an adult novel about three families and the true events of three plane crashes that occurred in New Jersey in the 1950s.

Another one of my all-time favorite authors, Mark Z. Danielewski just released The Familiar, Volume 1, which is the first of 27 volumes! Oh, and the first volume is only 880 pages.

This week, I'm reading a mish-mash of things:
In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume The Familiar, Volume 1 One Rainy Day in May by Mark Z. Danielewski A God in Ruins by Kate Atkinson Bad Feminist Essays by Roxane Gay Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews

Share what you're reading or what you're excited to be reading soon!

As to the favorite author publishing new books- Mercedes Lackey has one just out, From a High Tower, a retelling of Goldilocks, and Laurell K. Hamilton has a new one out tomorrow, Dead Ice.
From a High Tower (Elemental Masters, #11) by Mercedes Lackey Dead Ice (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #24) by Laurell K. Hamilton

V.C. Andrews just released a new one at the end of May Secret Brother which is the third in the Diary series that begins with Christopher's Diary: Secrets of Foxworth and continues with Christopher's Diary: Echoes of Dollanganger I have read the first but I wasn't too impressed - I'm hoping the next two are better because the Dollanganger Series is my favorite from the Andrews franchise :)

I love Felicia Day so right now the book I am most excited for is her memoir "You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)." It comes out in August and I know it's going to be great.

For this week, I am still working on "An Ember in the Ashes" and "The Cultural Lives of Whales and Dolphins." Ember is great and I highly recommend it.

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments I am really looking forward to Ernest Cline's "Armada". I've already pre-ordered the audiobook read by Wil Wheaton, just as he did for "Ready Player One"

I am so stoked for this book! I haven't preordered it quite yet, but it's right at the top of my wish list.

Have you watched The Guild? I religiously watched that for along time; it's how I was introduced to Felicia Day. I, too, am a big fan and am super excited for her book!

I loved The Guild! I found it randomly one day on Netflix and got hooked. Such a great series. I was disappointed when I found out there would be no more of it. Her writing of dialogue on the show was pretty spot on which is one of the reasons I am so looking forward to her book.

I never finished the series, but I definitely want to. I wish she would do more acting because I always loved her portrayal of Cyd. I'm really looking forward to the book!

You should definitely finish it. Have you seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog? She's in that (and sings!). She's also in a couple episodes of Supernatural, where she plays a geeky computer hacker. That's how I was introduced to her.
