Hi everyone!

Just curious as to whether enough people want to carry on with our book club?
I've noticed that there hasn't been any activity for over a month.

Thoughts?

Hi Kari,
I'm going to give it a week for people to respond with their interest, if at least 5 people wish to continue I definitely will but otherwise I don't think we'd have enough readers to create proper discussions.

Really hope we do though! :-)

Joanna (jhanebach) | 24 comments I'd love to keep going with this as well. Unfortunately I can be a bit of a slow reader, or maybe I just read too many books at once. So I'm still finishing up both Station Eleven and Stardust. I feel like if we do continue, it might be a good idea to do a few rounds of very popular books, since it might pull in a few more I've-always-wanted-to-read-that-one people. It might work to get things going.

Kari | 2 comments Good ideas, Joanna. Maybe we could put it back on imgur to see if we can get some more active members too?

How about if we choose books to read over a two month period, and have a topic that is a complete spoiler zone. Because I think waiting even a week after you've read a book to review it can lead to forgetting certain bits of the story or people not bothering.
As for what books we choose, it's hard to find something for everyone, and using the top '100' lists didn't offer much interest when I tried it.
Finding a source of book choices that suit everyones tastes/interests whilst offering something they may not have thought to read before is quite difficult.

Kyle | 12 comments I am interested, I was checking back lots but then gave up. I think it is worth one more shot.

(hope you are feeling better now PixieDuster)

Leisa | 2 comments Sorry I've been a flake, studying and travelling. I'm always interested in any kind of books, so once you guys decide, I'm in.

Feel better pixie!

This sounds like a good idea to me!

Okay, thanks for the support guys! :D

We need a source for books, preferably a 'Top whatever' list used with a randomiser to select about 5/6 books then vote on those books.

Maybe this list? https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7

Obviously when choosing the usual rules apply, english, non-series book unless its the first book, less than 600 pages, not read by the club before.

Thoughts?

Hey guys, I think I'll close the club for now.
Thank you to everyone who has taken part, its been fun :D

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be enough activity for us to continue on. Hopefully we can revisit this in the future.

Its been a pleasure meeting all of you and I hope your next book makes you smile!
