Amanda (amandalyn) | 114 comments Can anyone recommend a good clean time travel book? A few years ago I TRIED reading Outlander because I liked the concept and heard it was fantastic but it is....graphic to say the least! Lately I have been in the mood for a book like Outlander but without all the smut, one I can actually read without throwing up in my mouth a little. I also read A Discovery of Witches and the second in that series - again promising concept but the time travel portion was mind numbingly boring. If this makes sense, I am looking for a book "believable" enough to be enjoyable without a constant nagging "this could never happen" in my head. Any thoughts?

Marinda Smith | 2 comments I love "To say nothing of the dog" by Connie Willis. It's one of my favorite books.

Margaret Hardie | 17 comments I was just about to push my "enter" button, when Marinda said exactly what I was going to. "To Say Nothing of the Dog" (Oxford Time Travel #2)
by Connie Willis is awesome. I loved it.

Amanda (amandalyn) | 114 comments Thanks ladies! Added to my list but what about the first in the series? Have either of you read Doomsday Book? If so, is it good? Do I have to read one to understand the other?

Margaret Hardie | 17 comments I read the first. I am glad I read it as the glimpse of mid-evil England is . . . terrifying? Awesome? Some of the book's time issues were hard to get past - as 'wired telephones' in a future with otherwise amazing electronics, but I suppose our electronic society has surpassed the authors expectations in some ways. I got over it. It was very good too, but I like the second book better AND you don't need to read the first to 'get' the second.

Amanda (amandalyn) | 114 comments Thanks C! Kearsley is actually one of my favorites already, but I added Second Sight to my list - sounds great :)

Terri (terricb) | 40 comments This series is for teenagers, but the books are certainly hard to put down, have lots of great time travel going on, and super clean from what I remember:

Gideon the Cutpurse

The Time Thief

Time Quake

All three are by Linda Buckley-Archer

C.J. Darlington (cjdarlington) A great one that leans toward YA is Timebound Timebound (The Chronos Files, #1) by Rysa Walker has a little language, but pretty clean otherwise.
