10-14 years ago at a half price (75% off?) book store, I got a book that was about a village on a mountain who were terrified because of a beast on the mountain.

You don't find out the beast is a dragon until 3/4 through or more. There could've been something about sacrificial victims but I really don't remember.

The title had nothing to do with dragons that I recall so it was a surprise to figure out the beast was a dragon.

Does this book ring any bells for anyone?

Sounds a bit like Hidden
There is a village surrounded by fog, and people escape and there is a woman with a braid waiting outside who turns out to be a dragon

Shadow Dragon is horror and came our in 2012. I bought it ad read it. The monster like a dragon and set among mountainous forests. I bought it on Kindle--the paperback and hardback doesn't look cheap.
