Around the World in 80 Books discussion

Description


This is something a little different than our typical challenges. You won't even need to read any books for this challenge. This is the easiest challenge yet, since it isn't really even a challenge.

The 2015 Miss USA pageant takes place next month. The winner will go on to compete with other representatives from countries all over the world for the chance to be selected as Miss Universe - the reigning most beautiful woman of the world.

In 2014, there were 88 countries represented. We will use those 88 countries for our "pageant".

How it works

You will nominate books either set in that country or written by an author who is native to that country or lived at least 1 year in that country. You will nominate the books solely based upon the beauty of the cover.

Once the nominations are in, we will have polls to select the winners from each country. The winners will then compete for the title of "Miss Universe Book".

You may nominate up to 4 books per country. You can also nominate more than one cover of the same book. Post your cover choices here on this thread. Please post the edition with the cover art you are nominating. To post cover art for a book, follow the following steps:

1. Click on the link above the comment box that says "add book/author".

2. At the bottom of the drop-down menu, click the circle that says "cover".

3. Enter the book title in the search field (located above the "search" button).

4. If you see the cover you want to select, click on the "add" button to the right of your book selection.

5. If you don't see the cover you are looking for, click on the "other editions" link under the "add" button.

Covers can be from any edition and in any language.
