Stephanie Tuell (booksloveme) So im thinking of trying to listen to audio books. I have tried them in the past and didnt like them. But its really hard to exercise and read at the same time. Any tips on trying again?

Chris Stanley (christinelstanley) | 922 comments It took me a while to get used to them, however, I now love them. The biggest issue I had initially was the readers voice; it has to be something you can listen to for long periods. No matter how good the book is, if the reader doesn't make you comfortable, then there is no point. Audible has a good range and you can listen to a sample before you commit. If you find a reader you really like, you can search for all books by that reader, as well as by author and titles.

Also, I don't think they suit all types of exercise; anything too rigorous and you don't hear everything, but great for housework, walking, exercise bike or tasks that don't require too much concentration, they've got me through enormous piles of ironing.
