Yoru walked into the silent, dark room and tossed her bag onto the end of the bed. She walked over to the window and stared out o it longingly.
After about 20 or so minutes, Yoru walked over to her bed and plopped down in the middle. She pulled a book out of her backpack, leaned back and put her headphones on over ears and dove into her reading.
Yoru gave up on trying to read. All she could think about was the fact that she could manipulate fire. Her mother had made jokes about it after Yoru had accidentally made a burst of heat explode when she was 4, when her parents paid attention to her and didn't work until almost two in the morning. "I always knew you were a bit of a hot-head, but never literally!" She almost wished for her family back, but then she pushed that thought way deep into the back of her head. Even if she did have her family again, the same thing would just happen again. They didn't care about her. Nobody did. Not even herself. She pulled her hood further down over her face, blocking out any light that crept in through the window. Her mind tried to make her think about family again. but luckily there was knock on her door.

The knock became a rap, and then a really loud knock again as the door was ripped from its hinges.
"Sorry," Sunog told her, though he didn't sound very sorry.
"You're new. That's nice." Sunog pulled a lighter from his belt and flicked it on. He willed the flame to dance across his arm and eventually settle on his arm.
"I am Sunog Bundok, the Flame Incarnate. Do you wish to learn to use your Divine Gift?"

Yoru sat there, not paying much attention to the stranger. She pulled the headphones down from her ears and turned to finally acknowledge him. She didn't speak to him, she just gave him a slow nod of her head. If he thought she was rude, it was fine by her, but she didn't feel she needed t speak to him. Especially since she didn't know anything about him, except that he was a fire elemental and that his name was Suong. That's not enough information to make her speak to him or anyone for that matter.
