Actually, my sister and I are in a fight about this! It's on my bingo and I counted Summer House with Swimming Pool because it's about the lead up to and fallout from a summer holiday; she says if it isn't a set calendar date, it doesn't count! and there's a million mystery series that have one or more Christmas (or other holidays, but Christmas seems the easiest to find!) themed offerings, like The Cat Who Turned On and Off

I'm assuming they meant a traditional holiday like Christmas, but I think you can take it to mean a vacation as well. I'm not really sure if it counts as a vacation novel (basically the family lives somewhere for like 3 years and calls it a vacation). It's "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell. It's a memoir and hilariously funny.
