Cassandra | 5832 comments THIRD QUARTER CHALLENGE: CLEAR THE SHELVES
Duration: July 1 - September 30, 2015

As we move into the second half of the year, it's time to clear our shelves! Many of us (myself included) have shelves full of books that we haven't read. In my case I buy cheap books at secondhand stores or yard sales so my entire top shelf of my bookcase is full of unread books. Others don't buy books, but have to-read lists that are getting out of control.

Either way, pick a goal and try to clear those many books off your shelves!

Feel free to make this your own - you can add extra requirements, like using a random number generator to select books like our randomizer challenge. You could limit the challenge to books you actually own, or tackle the books that have been on your to-read list the longest.

Brianna has volunteered to lead this challenge. Thank you, Brianna!

ScarlettMi | 191 comments This is the perfect time for this type of challenge for me. It's about time that I cleaned up some of my pile of physical books that I've bought but not yet read. I've been listening to so many audiobooks and reading so many ebooks lately that the pile has begun to get a bit gigantic.

I'm going to attempt to read 9 books on my pile this quarter.

Updated: August 14th

(5/9)

1. Cauchemar by Alexandra Grigorescu
2. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
3. Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline
4. Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder
5. * Wicked The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Wicked Years, #1) by Gregory Maguire
6.
7.
8.
9.

*I know I said I was just going to clear up the physical books I've had sitting around but then I realized I had this one audiobook purchased in 2006 that has been stubbornly unread all these years and that was a chore to get through. So, I'm counting it because it was a harder bit of shelf tidying than anything else I own.

Karina (karinargh) | 807 comments Because of crash sales and whatnot, I have acquired a huge audiobook library with a ton of titles I haven't listened to yet. My quarter challenge, then, is to set aside more time for listening-activities and get through at least 8 books.

6.

Isa Third quarter challenge: Clear The Shelves!

I own 37 unread books; I'd like to cut that in half. I'm going for 19 books currently on my shelf. I'm trying to limit my buying, so for every new book I buy, my goal goes up by one.

0/19
