This is a place to leave questions for Emily...about Hummingbird Lake, or anything else that's related to Eternity Springs.

Michelle | 34 comments Emily, what inspires you when you sit at the computer?

Brenda Rumsey | 54 comments You have a real insight into the human heart. It comes through in the lives of every character you write. Which characters story was the hardest for you to write, even knowing everything would work out in the end?

These are great questions! I can't wait to see the answers.

Jane Blommie | 5 comments These are very general questions for any writers out there: how does the thought process come about for a book and a book series? Does it start with an idea and then goes to a story outline? Especially for this series, Emily, how do you keep those creative juices flowing? I have read all of these books and I found each one was equally good even though each had different story lines.

Honestly, my deadlines. This is my job and I treat it like a job. I can't wait to be inspired. I must actively work. Although, this weekend I came up with the next scene while lying on the back of the boat after swimming. :)

Hmm...that's an interesting question. I think the one I'm working on right now has been the most difficult. REUNION PASS is Lori and Chase's story and since I'm tied to so much of their past by previous books, it's been a real challenge. It is coming together for me now, though. I had to start it over four times--not something I ordinarily must do.

My thought process: I have a plot group that I depend on for the seed of my stories. I take what we come up with at plot group and grow the story with the input of my long time friend and beta reader, Mary D. As far as creative juices... I fill the well by reading a lot. I think that's very important.

I can understand how that would be a problem, since they have come up in past books. Would love to read their story though, so thank you for working through the problems. I know it will be great and now have another book to look forward to once I've reread all the past ones.

Oh, I will look forward to Lori & Chase! I am assuming it will be a 2nd chance romance?

Yes...a second chance romance.

The Loopy Librarian (loopy_librarian) | 7 comments I'm haunted by what was left unsaid about the fate of the newborn infant that Sage delivered. I'm curious as to why you gave no details. The obvious conclusion is that the infant was killed, but what was the backstory in your mind as you wrote the scene?
