Hi guys!
So I'm way behind as I'm on holidays, many apologies, so here are this week's questions:
I found the opening chapter was very exciting, what did people thing of the change of pace between each of the characters?
Which, if any, of the characters have people taken a liking to?
At this early point in the book do you think you will keep reading? Had it caught your interest?

Hi guys,
So how is everything going? How are people finding the book?
I still haven't figured out what is going on but it is wonderfully written. So witty.
What do people think?/

Hi Guys,
So I've just finished this book and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Anyway, a few questions to get some discussion going:
1) Which characters did you like/dislike to begin with and how did you feel about them at the end of the book.
2) There is quite a bit of violence/torture in this book. How do you feel about that? Did you think it was necessary for the plot??
3) Overall opinion of the book??
4) Do you think you will be reading any more of the series??

***** Spoilers******
1) I have to admit that it took a while for some of the characters to grow on me. Initially, I didn't like most of the characters except for Ardee and Ferro but Logan and a few others grew on me. Including Glokta who surprised me the most. I think there could be an excellent anti-hero beneath the crippled torturer.
On the other hand, I didn't like Jezal and I still don't.
2) The torture scene shocked me and I didn't enjoy it but it did help to set up the kind of person Glokta is, or at least who he thinks he is.
I was so proud of Ardee when she didn't sniffle, cry or hide during and after the attack by her brother. I also loved how strong and fearless Ferro is though I would like to see someone, Logan maybe, find a softer side in her.
3) Promising start, slow for a while but well worth the read. Really enjoyed it.
4) Expect to see the next book turning up on my feed very soon.

Summary
Logen Ninefingers, infamous barbarian, has finally run out of luck. Caught in one feud too many, he’s on the verge of becoming a dead barbarian – leaving nothing behind him but bad songs, dead friends, and a lot of happy enemies.
Nobleman Captain Jezal dan Luthar, dashing officer, and paragon of selfishness, has nothing more dangerous in mind than fleecing his friends at cards and dreaming of glory in the fencing circle. But war is brewing, and on the battlefields of the frozen North they fight by altogether bloodier rules.
Inquisitor Glokta, cripple turned torturer, would like nothing better than to see Jezal come home in a box. But then Glokta hates everyone: cutting treason out of the Union one confession at a time leaves little room for friendship. His latest trail of corpses may lead him right to the rotten heart of government, if he can stay alive long enough to follow it.
Enter the wizard, Bayaz. A bald old man with a terrible temper and a pathetic assistant, he could be the First of the Magi, he could be a spectacular fraud, but whatever he is, he's about to make the lives of Logen, Jezal, and Glotka a whole lot more difficult.
Murderous conspiracies rise to the surface, old scores are ready to be settled, and the line between hero and villain is sharp enough to draw blood
