Will sighed. He remembered what had happened between them..

Alina saw him. She took a deep breath in, swallowing.
Will looked down. He ran a hand through his hair.
He didn't say anything, but it hurt to look at her. Will knew it was his fault. Suddenly needing air, he quietly slipped out of the room.
Alina noticed him going away from the corner of her eye. She looked down, fiddling with her fingers.
Will sat on the floor of the hallway. He took a deep breath, looking down. He messed with his ring.
Alina went after him in the hallway, pausing before she came to his sight, contemplating what to do.
He pulled off his rings and put them back on, thinking. Will muttered to himself.
"Will?" She whispered, coming forward.
"Hi." She said softly, tensed. She looked down.
Will stood up. "Hi." He said quietly.
"How have you been?" She stepped forward.
"Okay.." He shrugged. "How have you been?" Will asked gently.
"Depends on your version of okay." She looked up from her lashes.
Will nodded. "I'm gonna go with you aren't okay.." He whispered
She sat down beside him. "Not really." She looked at him. "You haven't changed a bit."
Will sighed. He ran a hand through his short, now black hair.
"So you're leader now." She managed a smile. "What's that like?"
"A lot of work." Will sighed. He needed with his ring.
"I hope I'm going to be a good leader." She looked down. "You still keep that." She smiled, referring to the rings.
"You will be." He reassured. Will nodded. "Yeah. I never take it off...."
"Both of them?" She asked gently.
"Yeah." Will took them both off, showing them to her.
She smiled, remembering all the times they shared together.
"I missed talking to you.." He whispered, slipping his rings back on.
"I missed you." She whispered.
"Why are you sorry?" She frowned.
"Not being able to come out to the fields to see you..." He said quietly.
"Don't be. I couldn't be there anyways." She looked away.
Will frowned. "It's my fault the guards found us..."
"Don't blame yourself." She said firmly. "It wasn't your fault. We both fell asleep."
"It was because of me that the guards came looking for us....." Will looked down.
"No, it wasn't." She tilted his face up, touching his chin.
"Yes. It was..." Will took a deep breath, getting ready to explain.
"What is it?" She asked softly.
"That night, our castle was attacked. They needed to find me, because they wasn't sure if I had been captured or something. That's why the dark guard was in the field. The light guard was there because it's neutral territory so there had to be someone from both sides searching....." Will said softly, biting his lip.
"It's still not your fault." She whispered.
Will sighed. He didn't want to argue. He knew it was his fault.
"It wasn't your fault that the castle was attacked, and you certainly can't blame yourself because the guards were looking for you. You can't take the weight of the world." She said firmly
"If I was there, I could've done something..." He whispered.
"You're talking about your parents." She looked down.
Will sighed. He looked around the hallway.
"I should go." She looked away
She stood up, turning to walk away
Will stood up. "I'm sorry about your father.." He whispered.
