Steven Drachman | 7 comments They claim to guarantee 10K downloads at least. I would assume that if they actually guarantee it, they must have some kind of program that atually downloads them, that it's not real readers. Does anyone know? Has anyone used it?

Never heard of them, but if they're guaranteen I'm pretty sure they do. Either that or they're paying a bunch of people in India in Russia to take and click on your sites.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Well, a quick Google search turns up a very limited amount of info, but it is all a bit sketchy. The fact that they do indeed promise 10k downloads is a red flag. Not only do you risk your books not reaching real readers, but Amazon may also take action against you. From their support site:

You are responsible for ensuring that no tactics used to promote your book manipulate the Kindle platform and/or Kindle programs. We advise against using any sites that "guarantee" a return on your investment.

I wouldn't trust it. Back when I was active on YouTube, there were all kinds of scams like this, promising that you would get high views and such. I have a feeling it's much the same thing. Robots downloading copies of your books or workers in some back alley Internet cafe. Either way your books aren't really getting read.

Eliza Blevins | 7 comments Amazon doesn't look too kindly on practices like this. I would stay away.

Ann Werner (writingfool) | 39 comments If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Lots of scammers out there looking to make an easy buck or steal your information.
