Did you enjoy the book? I enjoyed Farmer Giles better than Smith of Wootton Major. I just thought that Farmer Giles fit better in the Tolkien mind-set than eating a "star" and being able to get into the faery realm...give me the dragons any day!
How long was your book? 156 pages
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling? I don't typically read authors based on how long or short their work is. So finding a book I could read in a day was not the easiest task on the planet because some days I can read a whole book and some days I only get to read 10 pages...

The Strange Library
Did you enjoy the book?
Very much.
How long was your book?
96 pages according to Goodreads
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling?
I don't usually have time to read a book in a day, even if it's very compelling.

Did you enjoy the book? Loved it. Favorite book of the year so far. Here is my review.
How long was your book? 181 pages.
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling? Not usually. I'm not that fast a reader. Unless the book is under 200 pages, I'm probably not going to read it in a day, no matter how compelling it is.

Did you enjoy the book? Yes, I really enjoyed it. You can see my review here.
How long was your book? 111 pages.
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling? There are authors whose books I could read in a day just because they're compelling but I don't do it often. Usually I read in a day short stories or books under 100 pages.

The Girl Who Married the Moon: Tales from Native North America by Joseph Bruchac

Yes, I love legend and myth!
How long was your book?
128 pages
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling?
Sometimes I can read longer books by Harlan Coben in a day because they pull me in!

The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger
Did you enjoy the book?
Yes, very much!
How long was your book?
304 pages, this wasn't my original book for this category but I started it one Saturday morning and just couldn't put it down!
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling?
Denise Grover Swank and Kelly Oram both have books that I have been able to finish in a day due to them being such great reads.

For this week's challenge, I read: I Could Chew on That by Francesco Marciuliano.
I enjoyed it very much, because the ideas were so exactly like my own dogs (one of which we lost just a few weeks ago).
This book was only 112 pages, so an easy in a day read.
I often read a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys book in a day (I am over 60, but return to my childhood frequently, especially after doing some much heavier reading.) I really love Robin Jones Gunn, and often read her books in a day.
Welcome Joy! Yes, you can add the books you already read when the categories are available. If it's a well known book, use the search fonction first, there's probably already a topic for it (in the right week), so you don't need to create a new one and can join the discussion.

I've read The Blue Fox by Sjón
Did you enjoy the book?
Yes, it was a nice book. Nothing impressive, but still, it was nice.
How long was your book?
I don't really now, somehwere around 100 pages. Very short, and with very short chapters.
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling?
Yes, Joseph Delaney. But I've read all of his work I could found, so...

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Did you enjoy the book?
I most have since I read in a day. But think about it afterwards, I don't really know if I believe the story.
How long was your book?
I read the Danish version which is 317 pages. It wasn't my original choice for this topic, but it turned out to be a very easy and quick read.
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling?
Maybe not in a day but I tend to read books by some of the Danish and Swedish crime authors pretty quickly.

Did you enjoy the book? Yes, loved it. You can see my review here.
How long was your book? 97 pages.
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling?
If I read a book in a day it has more to do with the story (as opposed to the author) and the fact that I have nothing else going on that day!

Angela and Diabola
Did you enjoy the book?
Yes :D
How long was your book?
163 pages
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling?
Not as much anymore. I am finding it harder to sit down and focus on a book for a long stretch of time. Every once in a while I will come across a book I can't put down, but they are becoming harder to come by.

Did you enjoy the book? I did, it was a nice, easy read with an interesting concept.
How long was your book? 352 pages.
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling? The last three Harry Potter books I read (mostly in bed) the day they were released. Literally could not put them down - I had to do everything one-handed. It was good training for when I had a baby!

Did you enjoy the book? Yes, it was quite funny.
How long was your book? 103 pages with pretty big font.
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling? The Harry Potter books the first time I read them!

Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman
Did you enjoy the book? It was ok
How long was your book? 104 pages
Are there some authors you usually read in a day because their books are compelling? I am a very slow reader, so it doesn't matter if the book is compelling, I can't finish them in a day even if I would want to do it.
