One Weird/Odd Thing

My mother tried to buy me and my sister matching red dress when were little (we are twins) and I was having none of it.

I'm not crazy about red either.

OMG Welcome to MY little corner of the world....
I thought I was the only one...(actually these are all symptoms of tactile defensive disorder! ) and the other little wired eases are touches of Asbergers.... Not to worry as long as they don't send you into fits and widgets at the breakfast table, keep you friam leaving your room because getting dressed us a major event, or prevent you from leading a happy life.

I do that too! And I'm an ice snob. I only like nugget ice, here in the Midwest it's found at the Sonic drive ins. They are tiny little nuggets, not just crushed.

Tell the group one weird/odd quirk that you have. Can't eat blue food? Only eat with plastic utensils? Only drink orange juice? Only write with blue pens?

Send all your red my way! lol
I must have a glass (glass) to drink from. No plastic or styrofoam! And I cannot stand thick glass. I want nice glass or crystal. Sorry, if it sounds snobbish, but it is just a thing I have about drinking from glasses. I am particular about cups, too. lol

I do this, too, but I do not want my food to touch. If I have food that might run into each other, I'll put it on a separate dish. Really, I prefer just to eat one food for a meal. Like a salad or spaghetti but not both.

I love silk against my skin.

Thank God for quirky teachers! They're the ones who are remembered.

OMG I thought I was the only quirky teacher who did this. Every student was given a Student Number which was simply the number next to their names in my paper gradebook. (Although we didn't have to, right before my retirement I was still keeping a paper gradebook) When they handed in assignments I would hand the papers to someone in the front and ask them to put them in numerical order. (Easier than telling them alphabetical) Then I got the idea of using sticky notes that the student would put on the top of the pile of any numbers that were missing, with a lower case "a" for absent. So the first thing I did was enter in zero for any that were missing and not absent. It sounds complicated but it wasn't. The students thought I was crazy giving them numbers. But it made my life a lot easier. I had five classes so then I got the idea of color coding the folders 1st period green, 3rd period blue, etc. I even bought colored paper clips to use as well. If a student handed in a late assignment I'd put the appropriate color paper clip on it. I also made them enter the assignment (Too many students handing in late papers and I was supposed to figure out which homework assignment they were handing in). To avoid copying on major tests I used a randomizer on the computer, so I printed up 3 different versions, same questions just in different order.

You are not alone in that. There are people who are highly sensitive to things like that. I don't mind cloth tags on the inside of my shirts but some of my tee shirts I have cut out the tags that were like paper and I couldn't stand the feel of them on my back. I probably would have gone crazy in the pre World War II age to have to wear stockings with seams in them.

I love it! Our brains are amazing in their complex and quirky devotion to details that help us function well.

ADD. I've read a few books about it and I have a lot of things that go with it. As soon as I saw an commercial for Windows 8 told my best friend, I don't want to upgrade to that. I don't want too many screens. Even some web pages I find annoying because there are so many different things.

I totally get it.
I read books at book stores.... Never at the library.(hangs head in shame)

I LOVE carbonated beverages. I have to have a carbonated drink when I eat--whether it's a Diet Dr. P or Perrier Citreon.

We don't have that brands in Malaysia. But we have Coca Cola, Pepsi, Fanta, Mountain Dew,7up ....

Not sure that you are human...please verify.

Bahaha...if that were the case then I wouldn't be spending an outrageous amount of money a month, I'd just lick my own sweat! HAHA Not really, though!

I like routine!

Yay - a like minded water drinker. Tap works for me - we have lovely water in South Wales. I drink buckets of it. Not worth paying for it in bottles.

I LOATHE the color red. That means no Louboutin shoes, Dooney and Burke bags, or red roses. If it has any red on it or in it, I won't buy it. And yes, red on a book cover has caused me to initially skip over a book.
