Mines would definently be Ben, Todd's "dad".... I just love how he came out of no where when Todd needed him singing that song. "Oh don't leave me never decieve me!!"
TODD!!!! Wilf and Ben and Lee and Davy!! They are the greatest char.s of all time(other than Newt et Minho) If anyone denies....1017 is such a changed character in the end, hearing him apologize and knowing it ain't enough to be forgiven completely made me really happy… I almost decided to put him on my faves list :D

MACHEE. MY GOD. MACHEE. I probably never cried so hard because of a character death in my life - Patrick Ness, WHY ARE YOU SUCH AN AMAZING WRITER AT MANIPULATING MY FEELINGS?! lol
But, yeah - Todd Hewitt and Viola, all the way best characters of the book.
This is probably going to sound weird but Mayor Prentiss, only because I was always wondering what dumb shit he was going to pull next. The guy was pretty boss.I LOVE villains and Ness definately created a good one. If it wasn't for him, Todd wouldn't have become the man he was at the end of the series.I actually use his I AM THE CIRCLE AND THE CIRCLE IS ME thing when I'm flipping out. Excellent anger management exercise, I'll have to introduce it to my English teacher:P
Sarcasm...I actually hated that guy. Glad he got swallowed by a bigass fish.I don't really have a favorite character. Although Davy was starting to redeem himself...but yeah gun--head. ended that pretty quickly.
I know it's weird because Todds a guy and I'm a girl but I feel like I'm like him in a few ways, with the bad short temper and all the swearing... Haha
I agree with that dude was saying about Prentiss. He is the perfect villain. I kno no other like him. Prentiss is the villain who all others want to be. Don't you think? Cuz like, how can someone do wat Prentiss does without being the master of his kind? For anyone to know and do what Mayor does, they have to know everyone's next move, and then perform their act before their enemy attacks first! That is wat villains are meant to be, but their archnemesises are the version of them in on the other side. But Todd, is both on the opposing, and the same, making them the perfect enemies!!!!Thx whoever you are!! That opened my mind up to a whole new way of seeing Prentiss. I still hate his guts and all, but I see him differently
Okay, I agree. Prentiss is a pretty awesome villain. But still I will never come to even begin likeing him even the slightest bit. He's a crazed dead man in my eyes, and he shall stay dead.
Machee, I feel like he gave Todd the stability that he was lacking due to his loss of family. It was not the act of his death that bothered me, it was that empty spot that he filled. A dog is always there and you don't need to think about whether they are following you, they just do.
Hmmm... I'm starting to think I have two main favs now. Todd and Davy :/
Honestly, this group of characters are one of the best developed. I hate Mayor Prentiss but can't help but be intrigued by his ruthlessness and cunningness. I love Viola because she isn't some damsel in distress but not some annoying independent-i-don't-need-boys kind of girl either. She can make those tough choices just because it might help Todd. And Todd. He started out as a boy who followed whatever he was told but at the end, he became so much different. He thought for himself and fought for what he believed in (I <3 Todd and Viola). Let's not forget Manchee, Davy, Mistress Coyle, Aaron and everyone else. If I talk about each one this post will go on forever :D Basically, everyone was my favorite character :)
I loved Manchee and I maybe cried when he died... so much! I love Viola as well. Like Tirzah I thought she had really good development throughout the book. They were my favourite GOOD characters but the baddies in this series were brilliantly crafted.

Manchee! I just finished the first book, and I'm still crying because he died. It was just so so sad! I just can't forget it. The only time I cried so much was in Harry Potter. this book is incredible. And I'm still crying. I can't believe Manchee is dead. ;-;

LOVED Manchee and cried when he died, I wound up really liking and feeling sorry for Davy and Ben was so endearing. I of course loved Todd too!
I think this is the one book/series where you can't help but like everyone but the true antagonist(Prentiss.) I think no one can just never love three characters in Chaos Walking.
I hated Mistress Coyle and Hevens Mayor though. Coyle was a stupid grudge holder. Honestly, Prentiss wasn't so bad to the people of Heven(will never call it New Prentisstown) until she came along and literally blew everything.
I can say I HATED the ending lol! I felt like I invested so much into Todd and I have no idea how it ends.
