Thanks Brenda. I'm a few chapters in and it seems ok so far. I have to finish it, regardless, as it's also for book club and I have a rule that I will always read the month's choice whether I'm liking it or not. It's probably the only time I persevere with a book I don't necessarily like. Fortunately there haven't been many bad ones.
Oh you're good! I can't force myself to read a book I don't like, as I can't get into it, plus I have that many others to read;)

Finished
1. International Women's Day - Australian events 1.3.13 - 30.3.13 - http://www.internationalwomensday.com... - Read a book about a strong female character either fiction or non-fiction.
Michael wrote: "Thanks Brenda i rekon it would be one you would enjoy reading. :)"
I'll keep it in mind, thanks...I haven't read anything by that author at all.

I like to buy special favourites, and borrow 'unsure' ones...if I love them, I might buy them anyway;)

I didn't like that one either Trina!

I only noticed this now, but I loved all of the Black Jewels books by Anne Bishop, and do like reading about others reading them. :-)

ANZAC Day: John Simpson Kirkpatrick by Allan Drummond
I can't find this book here, but I found it a quite good read. The style of writing is aiming for high school children -- but having said that, I still found it a good read. The author did well to draw some comparisons between his father Bill and John Kirkpatrick, and I also found the chapter that talked about John Simpson 'the legend' versus 'the man' to be quite enlightening. 4 stars.

Steve, if I recall, you purchased ANZAC DAY on your ebook? I have searched and can't find it anywhere...do you have an ISBN/ASIN with any other detail you can give me about the book, so I can add it to the data base? Thanks:)

I finished my #2, Reduce, a little while ago Tiger Paw by Charles A. Cornell. It was brilliant. My review to follow:)

http://kilbaha.com.au/index.php?route... is what I purchased. It is a PDF, and looks to be a straight scan of the book itself. It looks a little hard to find, but teh Google knows all: http://books.google.com.au/books/abou...

Hi Elaine, who chooses the book of the month at your book club and do you buy the books or borrow them from a library. I am in a book club too that is associated with our local library and some of the books we have read so far have not been all that great a read but most have been good for discussion.

Hi Bronwyn...we usually take it in turns alphabetically to choose a book. There are nine of us in the group at the moment so everyone is guaranteed a turn. We usually take a break Dec/Jan.Some of us buy the books and some borrow. It just depends. It's a lot of fun and it's the same with us some books are just awful, whereas others are amazing. It's always interesting though getting 9 different viewpoints.
