Beth (k9odyssey) I have read several of these books and am currently finishing Return if the King. Lord of the Rings is my favorite story of all time and I read the books back to back. I wonder why I waited so long to read Tolkien. I am excited to read many books on the list but wonder where it came from and how the top 50 were decided upon. I have no criticisms of any of the books, just curious how the list came to be. Thanks.

Shmuli Cohen I'm accepting the challenge as well, but I'm also curious how this list came to be.

Mayra (kaligurl_7) | 371 comments yeah i got it from the bookmark too, but it would be interesting to learn who put it together, how they decided what books made the list, or how they narrowed it down to 50 bks... which arent really 50, if u keep in mind LOTR is 3, HP 7, His Dark Maretial 3... so yeah...

Erika | 11 comments Oh, yeah, that would be really interesting. probably the person who created the bookmark just used his/her own judgement.
