Summary
The novel begins with Hadley running through the airport terminal to find out that she has missed her flight by only four minutes!! The flight was to her father and his new fiance's wedding that she has been dreading for months. She is assigned to a new flight that is three hours away. As she is waiting in the terminal she meets a man who helps her carry her suitcase while she looks for food. As they begin talking she finds out his name is Oliver and he will be on the same flight and in the same row she is. As they board the plane and take their seats, they meet a woman who informs them that she has been married for 52 years and that "once you find the right person, it's easy". This sparks a debate between Hadley and Oliver about the sanctity of marriage and leads to stories about their own family life. Hadley spills everything but the reader can sense that there is something Oliver is holding back about his family. This section ends with them finally locking hands while waiting outside the occupied airplane restrooms (how romantic!)

Discussion Questions
1. Do you think Oliver is hiding something? If so, what?
2. So far, do you think that this is going to turn out like a stereotypical teen romance? Or is there something that will (or already does) set this book apart?
3. Do you think that the author made Oliver and Hadley's meeting very convenient?

Just so you guys know you totally DO NOT have to use the questions I wrote above. They are only a way to get you started if you need them. This is a discussion thread so please feel free to discuss in the manner you want.
Please keep in mind though if you have read ahead of this part keep the comments/discussions/thoughts in the range of where this thread is in the book
Thanks!!

2. It's hard to say if it will turn out like a stereotypical teen romance. To be honest, the writing style is very distracting to me. For some reason, the present tense writing feels wrong. That and talking about Hadley's parents as just "Mom" and "Dad".
3. It does seem like their meeting was a bit too...expected. Maybe it's just me though...

2. i dont think it is like a stereotypical teen romance. english teens are a bit more mature than american ones to me. they only go to chool until they are 16 and then they have the choice of going to college or not. i think oliver is more mature than his actual age. plus i think hadley is a bit childish... then again i guess i can understand why with what happened with her parents.
3. For sme reason as soon s i read th part about the guy with the doughnut, i figured that was the guy she was going to meet. i find the writing to be annoying ad hard to get into... with a main character basically sounding as though she is talking about herself in third person it just sorta grates on your nerves. i almost thought about not even finishing the book...

2.When I was at this point in the book i thought it was the regular teen romance. But then I saw the movie Red Eye. Then i prayed that it would turn out like that. In my opinion the book would have been a heck of a lot better.
3.Well, i don't know what 'convenient' means. I hav an idea though so... I thought there meeting was kind of planned out. I mean who meets someone in an airport then sits next to them on a plane? Anouther reason it should have turned out like Red Eye. HE WAS STALKING HER SO IT WORKED OUT. It bothered me a little.
